Interesting how many people describe this game as simple combat mechanics. Because that's wrong. I know you don't have any ill will. This game has a very easy entry into its combat mechanics. Basically a toddler can learn the basics. But the skill ceiling is surprisingly high. If you are willing to put in the hours you can solo on ruthless without getting a scratch. It rewards skill but isn't punishing for new players.

I was once told this rule : Combining genres or themes does not combine the audience of those things, it only syphons out people who like both/all of the included things. For example : If you make a good sci-fi, sci-fi lovers will show up. If you make a good crime drama, crime drama lovers will show up. If you make a sci-fi crime drama, you'd think both will show up, but the truth is that only those who love both crime drama and sci-fi will show up, severly slashing down your audience numbers. For some reason media corporations have forgotten this. If you make a hero shooter, hero shooter lovers will show up. If you make an activist type DEI game, the activists and DEI people will show up. If you make an activist DEI hero shooter, only the activist DEI people who also love hero shooters will show up. This made worse by a 40 dollar buy-in cost, because now you add "Who can/want to spend 40 dollars on it." to your customer limitations. Which ended up being less than 800 people world wide as it turns out. Same is going on with Marvel. They include activism thinking the activists would come. But the only audience are activists who also happen to be into super hero stuff. The funniest and ironic part of this is : That means those people were already in their audience before without being pandered to and are not a new audience. I just drove through Brighton On, Canada and there is literally a pride flag for the crosswalk leading across the road right to the front door of the high school. It can't get anymore obvious. It's their show "The Tithes" second episode. It's an anthology series and the first one follows up on the end of Pariah Nexus (which is actually good). The second episode follows a female custodes. Not a space marine, a fucking CUSTODES! I dropped it the moment she dawned the armor. Third episode was alright. A lot of their shows had promise. Too bad they drop the ball to appeal to people that don't even partake in the fandom. They can't just write good characters, they have to shove in messaging when the gene "seed" used to make our super boys is literally their balls.

Female space marines are not in Space Marine 2 at all. The woman that you showed in that clip at 4:00 was from a Warhammer+ show called Tithes. I think it's good that SM2 did well. It shows Games Workshop that their customer base is still interested in core theme of WH40K: stomping evil aliens as a genetically engineered supersoldier. As a long time 40K fan that absolutely despises what GW has become, and especially them dipping their toes into the woke sludge of Slaaneshi degeneracy, I see SM2 in very simple terms.
