Love a swim jig, the most versatile lure there is. Green fish tackle and Dirty Jigs No-Jack swim jigs are my favorite. When I’m using a Rage bug I get more bites when I rig it sideways.

I'm from central MN and a swimjig is on at least one of my rods from mid-spring all the way thru the end of fall. As soon as the weeds get too thick for a chatterbait to rip thru, a swimjig is my go-to searchbait for the rest of the year. Great vid Fluke!

Been hitting many of your videos over the past couple days. You are a great guy, accomplished and u give back so much unselfishly - can't thank you enough. Bought up a good supply of swim jigs and trailers for them norther lakes this spring but so far (I'm in the year of COVID-19 2020) I haven't had the courage to get my boat out just yet cause its scary out there! I'm shooting for May 1st . I take notes often times to refer back to later, and you are clearly organized in your presentations, making it so much more interesting to learn from you.

Thank you Bruce. I understand being concerned about C19. I'm fortunate that I have a couple smaller lakes down the road that are well managed by our local game wardens and they have done a lot to help us maintain a safe distance at boat ramps and parking lots.

I fished earlier today right between a band of thunderstorms and I couldn't get anything to bite but I knew there were fish there. I put on a swim jig with a home-poured blue curly tailed grub and BOOM! Fish started hammering it. I went from a few bites in an hour to 10 fish in about 20 minutes. Now my phone won't recognize thumb-print and I've got the summer swim jig to blame! So glad for this video!

Just caught my first 2 swim jig bass after going on a absolute spree catching 4 4+ pound bass in a week on a casting jig. The swimjig bass weren’t that huge but they gave me confidence. Using your videos and a bunch of others to tune my craft now😵💫

Ok folks - let's talk about the elephant in the room... 1) Does Gene not remind you of Mr Rogers? I mean, the way he breaks things down and his soft tone makes you just want to go out an learn fishing. All he needs to do is toss his rod from one hand to the other like Rogers does his shoe!! 2) The expression on Gene's face when that bite unexpectedly hit (at 10:10 mark)! It was priceless! All jokes aside - love the videos, learning a lot, and already subscribed. Keep 'em coming Gene!

Ok, I've watched about 20 of your videos on teaching fishing techniques, tackle boxes, and you know what? Subscribed. I like how you break it down, how you showed the kind of area you're fishing in, how to pull the rig/bait back in, how to set up the jig - KEEP THIS UP!

Andrew Wolf people seem to think a finesse jig would fish better in heavy veg but they don’t stay perpendicular when pulling through.. a heavier jig cuts right through and stays upright.. easier to get loose if u end up getting hung up too. I fish a 3/8-1/2 in a pond if i know they’re in the thick, just fish it faster like a chatter

Finally picked up one of the Evergreen swim jigs- you were right, they're perfect. I've fished everything from Dirty Jigs to 6th sense to Alan's swim jigs which are hand tied, but Evergreen wins it hands down with the Grass ripper. Perfect head shape, perfect size, the weed guard is even perfect- the skirts are awesome, and the colors while not extensive are really good. B'hite delight, Spot remover, fire craw, black and blue, and green pumpkin- that's everything I need. The only swim jig I've found that rivals it is the Mega Bass ouze- it's a swim jig/underspin combo though, so they're really different enough to use both. Thanks for turning me on to the Evergreen though- not sure if you were even using them in this video yet.

i fish the colorado river on the Az Ca border with decently fast current and frequent depth changes. Everyone i know that fishes here usually sticks to the banks but probably 35-40% of the time you cant get a lot of bites and was just looking for any idea as to how i should fish or what i could try differently depth varies from 4’-20’ with a steep sloping bank but about 2’ off the bank the grass grows from around 8-10’ and comes either to the top of the water and mats up or about 6” below the top constantly get hung up and its harder to fish a worm since by the time your bait hits bottom youve already floated past it due to the current and you end up gettin hung

Kansas and Missouri have an odd mix of rock bottom and muddy bottom rivers, lakes, and ponds. Been fishing rooster tails and crankbaits heavy with great success, but it seems like swim jigs may be the more flexible option. I wonder how white bass and wipers like them since their mouths are a little smaller?

I love swim jigs and I’m in New England. So far my fave trailer is a Fat Albert singletail grub but that menace trailer looks awesome. I like swim Jigs bc I feel they’re an amazing “all terrain vehicle”. I’m curious to know how water clarity affects your selection, though. Some say it’s more of a clear water lure? Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks for all the great vids and tips. You’ve definitely helped me be a better angler.

"I don't know why black and blue works so good" ... Black and blue works good because it imitates a crayfish that hasn't been eating any vegetation. They turn dark brown w/blue accents when there's less green algae in the areas they're feeding. Also, the species of crayfish that live on deep rocks are darker with more blue. I learned this information on youtube today. :)
