Went to the river yesterday and caught 3 largemouth and 1 small mouth. The first two were on a Texas rigged Senko the third one was on a watermelon red Yum dinger and this blew my mind I caught the fourth fish on a wacky rig Senko. Thank you Gene for all the how-to's brother keep up the good work!!!

Being fairly new to fishing, I bought a set of cheaper version chatterbaits and came here to learn to use them. I went with his preferred method of retrieve, and 3 trips to a couple of lakes later, I still have the same white/chartreuse tied on. I've never caught so many fish. It's been a ton of fun. Needless to say, this is my new favorite lure.

I've had a lot of people ask me at the shop how to fish the Chatterbait. I don't know if it was you I heard it first from years ago or who it was but whoever it was said to move the ChatterBait with your rod not the reel. That was the best advice to me that I have ever had with a Chatterbait. And I've had people come back in the shop after trying that and thanking me. So I'm going to assume it was you and say thank you Gene for that great lesson that has served me well through the years.

Gene, very informative video as usual. I've turned many of my friends, who just started bass fishing, onto your vids and you have definitely helped them catch more fish. You're teaching has helped 2 of them fight and overcome their drug addictions by replacing it with the addiction of adrenaline that only those little green and brown fish can bring. Just wanted to let you know that you have made a difference in people's lives, if I know 2 of them in my small circle then I'm sure there are many more out there. God bless and keep up the wonderful work.

Nice timing man- perfect. The new Chatter Bait from z man, the Cross Eyez chatter bait, has a weed guard on it to- which also helps keep it from getting hung up in wood. Using a flatter trailer like this, I use the Gambler Komodo, with the new weed guard means I can fish wood pretty effectively with it- which is awesome because very few ppl are throwing them on wood. Plus- they still have the firecraw color in the cross eyez cb- try finding a JH in that color, if you do you'll pay two prices for it.

I'm new to this- one thing I still don't fully get is- I always hear about how you want glass or moderate action on chatterbait bc it gives you "good load"/deeper parabolic bend on the bite for better hook set. I understand what that means, but I don't get what's different about a swim jig that I don't see the same recommendation for both. Why is the bite so different for a swim jig vs bladed jig that the recommendation for different action is so strong?
@collector_effectors2 жыл бұрын
I actually like a little flex in the line and tip with swim jigs or really any moving baits.

An awesome tip about the hookset. I lost lots of fish because they spit it out just like you said. I was using a 7ft MH Fast rod with braid to 15lb Flouro leader so I think the equipment was stiff enough to get the hookset. I am positive it is like you said because they hit it so hard that it is the back of their throat.

It's the only one I catch fish on specifically the green pumpkin with a strike king paddle tail upside down on the hook and I have a lot of different colors in the z man line. Although I haven't used the jackhammer yet. If you turn a paddle tail upside down on the hook it kicks much better

I understand moving it too fast with a fast reel but a little discipline goes a long way. Plus once I set that hook I can land them fairly quickly. That 8 speed is awesome when bringing them in
