Thank you so much for sharing the calculations. It's just what I need to diy a round fluted dining table.

Wow, you got the look exactly, I love the basic "sculpture" look, and the texture. West Elm better look out.

Thank you! It turned out a little bit different than the original, but I still love it and am so glad I attempted it! 😊

Thanks Mere! That West Elm table is such a dream!

I love this! I bought the actual West Elm side table. When it arrived it was tiny, the top was uneven so if you rested a drink on it it would spill. It was so cheap looking in person I returned it. Yours actually looks nicer and I love you can make it taller. Thank you for uploading this video!

That is so disappointing! I'm glad you were able to return it. I definitely like that you can customize the size when you make it yourself. This little area between my window and my couch is pretty small so I have never been able to find a solution. Thanks for the comment - I'd love to know if you ever try to make one yourself! :)

Thanks! :) It was definitely worth the effort. It's still going strong in our living room.

Great video! Can I suggest you use a stop block when cutting your dowels for speed and accuracy ;)

This looks amazing! I’d love to make two for nightstands by the bed. As far as getting a stone texture I’m going to try mixing baking soda with the paint. I think that’ll also help the imperfections to look more cohesive.

Definitely! That’s such a great trick. I’d love to know how it goes if you end up making your nightstands!

How did you cut the dowels to make 16 fit?
@Kelly-lo6cz2 жыл бұрын
Hello, where did you buy your dowels and what was the total cost of your project? These are crazy expensive thesw days.
@LittleReesorHouse Жыл бұрын
I bought them from Home Depot and yes, they were a little pricey, but it was much less expensive than the original table from West Elm. That being said, I did this project nearly 2 years ago now and I know prices have only been going up, so that may not be the case these days 😞

I would definitely do this but I wouldn't change anything, it looks amazing :)

It would’ve been super cool if you made a hidden door with the dowels to hide stuff inside lol

Agreed! That would be very cool!

It looks alright from a distance but up close very rough. Not really sure you’d want this as a bedside cabinet. Something in a corner to decorate.
@LittleReesorHouse Жыл бұрын
Yes, I specifically gave it that rough texture using the spackle to try and mimic the look of plaster - rough is exactly what I was going for! 👍🏼
