I can just imagine the feat amount of freedom he must feel.. the thought of it makes me cry, I'm so jelous. it's been my dream to fly.... and not just fall, like in skydiving, but to pull yourself up and go wherever you want.

The idea of using the body alone to control the aircraft without any rudders is purely genius. That thing must feel absolutely amazing to fly. It took 1 century but man can finally fly like a bird outside of his dreams.

Purely genius? you call the idea of using the body alone to control the aircraft genius? I wouldn't consider it genius at all. Just obviously logical. People are just too blind to see it, without saying stupid. Ooops, sorry.

Stand up! EVERYONE GET UP! Something this amazing requires an immediate standing ovation. Hell, I'm in a wheelchair & even I stood up...thanks to this man we may all be not just on our own two feet on solid ground but up in the sky! I read about the news when he crossed the English Channel, I saw him a few months ago briefly in a video which recorded one of his flights, and now I finally get to hear from him in detail. Every time I am amazed at the technology. We're all going to be flying! YES!

Brian Dillmann Is this in the old presentation because I've seen the newer videos, especially of the one where he is flying paired and versus an airplane? You could be right but that's what I'm seeing.
@briandillmann6918
@briandillmann6918 9 жыл бұрын
UncleSiam Hm, watch?v=kSgrzMQv2Mc this one seems to be more convincing, towards the beginning they are definitely angling the camera so it looks as if he is maintaining horizontal flight, but towards the end it becomes more difficult to criticize. I still stick to my guns, because until they release the coefficients for drag and lift, I'm forced to believe they haven't created a suit that defies physics. I can also believe that the planes too may be descending for travelling at those speeds (< 100mph) I think they can still angle their noses up, but glide downwards with Jetman. His packs total should provide around 880N of thrust which shouldn't allow him to go more than ~70ish mph horizontally (if he were able to travel horizontally)

The wings have 4 jet engines. Why might happen if suddenly the push power of one side falls respect to the push power of the other side? How this man might control the spin force in such case? would not be more stable if the push power has been concentrated in exactly the middle of the wings?

Kachina Lively Perhaps so. The only problem I can see is speed. In flight with his wing Mr. Rossy has "only" acheved an average speed of about 200km/h. Even World War I fighters were able of achieving such velocities. A military version should be faster, simpler and above all stealthier. Otherwise the future Wingtroopers will end up as easy targets for hostile fighters and AA. A single bullet is too much for a man to take; asking someone to simultaneously focus on his flying is a bit too much to ask from a human. Not even to mention the possibility a bullet hitting one of the fuel tanks aboard the unarmoured wing. Special forces, the usual exceptions, however could use these to get deeper within enemy territory than with parachute alone. Despite being a military man myself, I do think that it would be horrible to corrupt this wonderful dream by soiling it in the business of killing.

Richard Dyer I'm sorry if I wrote in a confusing way, the reference to WW1 fighters may have tossed you off. I did not mean to claim that these would be used in air-combat, but for transport and/or recon. They would be completely useless in direct combat roles, as you stated. I was attempting to bring up that the wing and its pilot are quite easy targets, even when attempting stealthy infiltration.

Jetpack technology will never stop evolving. Eventually even small children will be fitted with jetpacks as the norm. The exact technology they will run by is a mystery but it is assured that the technology will evolve to a point where one likely will be able to guide the height and direction of the jetpack just by moving their wrists or simply pressing down their palms. The mastering of jetpack technology will coincide with the mastering of smart-suit technology, where wearing smart-suits will become the norm as well. These suits will be self-cleaning, and aware of their environment. One could engage protective shielding when in flight or battle to protect the suit, simply by using the power of thought. This type of technology where Man can operate his suit with the power of intent alone won't be achieved through transhuman implants in the brain or anything of that sort. It will simply be a wireless form of 'brain waves dictating action', without the need to be wired up like in present technology. The intelligence could, if it is required, even come to a point where the smart-suits can prevent a host body from engaging in violent/negative behavior, which would specifically be used as a preventative of an enemy using the smart-suit for malevolent means, as the smart-suit is strictly designed to serve the function of form of it's creator, who in this particular example scenario would be a humanoid of a benevolent spirit. And so it will be inevitable that Man will adopt this jetpack smart-suit technology as part of his natural function of form. Over time, as Man's mind/body/spirit evolves this behavior into his nature, he will excel to a point where he will be able to fly without the jetpack. Further and further down the line Man will inevitably evolve out of his physical form of the brain, organs, bone, muscle, blood and tissue. The purpose of function for the body is to service the brain in it's desired movements and to keep it alive. As the brain evolved into carnation by the power of consciousness alone, it will inevitably evolve out of physical incarnation into a purly 'spiritual' incarnation by the power of consciousness alone as well. And when this phase of evolution is reached the organs of the human will begin to evolve out of use and become unnecessary for survival. Blood will evolve out of use through this phase as well. Further on the outer shell of this new form will evolve out of necessity as well, thanks to smart-suit technology. And it will be that Man will strip the need of his smart-suit one day as well. At this point in evolution, where Man reaches Angel level, he will have mastered physical form within space and time, and become capable of surfing the universe as a spiritual entity traversing freely through the inter-dimensional matrix of all light within space. He will become untouchable to *all* lower physical anima-bearing forms. The incarnation of this New Man, The Angel, can only come through Man's natural evolution. Transhumanist robotic instruments cannot guide Man's evolution into this new post-human figure. The *only* way towards this endpoint is through the mastering of diet, environment, exercise, wireless brain-wave technology and smart-suit technology. Another aspect to how smart-suit technology will create the path for life extension is how the physical body will be 'wrapped' and 'preserved' by the suit just as other organic materials are, such as fruit and vegetables. And this is just the way Man will evolve his 'physical' form to this level. For Man to evolve his 'spiritual' and 'mental' form in unison with this physical form, as a triad of form, he will have to incarnate a socially harmonious Environment. The only way of achieving this collective state of spiritual/mental harmony is through the power of choir singing. The vibration frequency resonating within and without a social collective of Man while singing links the spirits and minds of humans together. And the highest vibrational frequency achievable is through positive frequency verbalizations. The highest lyrical form of such frequencies is inarguably the lyrics focused on the praise and admiration of the highest forms of grace, mercy, love, understanding, empathy, and love, which are all glorified in the praise of the archetypal/literal form of Jesus Christ. Another dimension of how this type of vibrational equality incarnates is how when humanoids sing of such graceful and loving things in such an outward and trusting way with one another, their ego's begins to hone to an equal vibration and the collective as a whole begins to become consciously united. The power of praise to Jesus Christ is the only way to level everyone's ego and hone themselves with The Most-High.

It's easy for anyone to envision themselves in the future flying through sky/space with a smart-jetsuit on. But it is difficult for most to envision doing so as an inter-dimensional, Godhead Level Christian.

I love how EVERYBODY, even Scientific American Magazine, skirts delicately around the fact that he is NOT FLYING. (I guess no one wants to be Captain Bringdown. But *I'll* take the job!) He's just GLIDING VERY FAST AND FALLING VERY SLOWLY. If you listen carefully you'll note that Yves Rossy never says he flew UP--THAT would violate the laws of physics, considering the large weight and short wingspan. GOD! People are so gullible.

dzheep what a disappointment, Captain Bringdown for you to have to live in such primitive times, what have you created that no one knows your name. IF you LISTEN the slightest to this quote @1:5o 'to climb he arches his back' @4:00 'he starts to make his climb' @7:20 'I climb I turn' . You Sir are and will remain a legend in you own mind, and a nobody no one will ever know or want to know.

The kitty hawk was the same way, inefficient, slow and mostly was gliding for around a minuet and a half. It was just the beginning.

I have a Golden Retriever show dog who's registered name is (Laurell's Bottle Rocket). He is a turbo charged wild man. We have tried for a year to come up with the perfect call name for him that would, not only fit his personality, but also the theme of his registered name. After watching this amazing video of Yves Rossy, we decided to call the dog (Rossy). Perfect name.

The answer to the question about "double seating" - "have you ever seen [double seating] with a bird?" What concerns me about his body effectively being the sum total of all the control surfaces is that if he should become partially incapacitated (muscle spasms, knee or shoulder dislocation, etc.) he is crap out of luck.I supposed there might be some control with thrust vectoring from side to side but that's it.The parachute is his ejection seat so to speak...
