Love how you can in quite few words make a so complete but accurate assessment of a glider. I have 2 other than this one AD wings and I can immediately feel what you explain as regards to behaviour and more. Brilliant! Thank you!

How would you compare the Vivo 2 and the Rise 4 ?
@flybubblecarlo8 ай бұрын
From our testing, the low-mid B Vivo 2 has lower pilot demands compared to the Rise 4, which leans towards the higher end of the high B class. Performance is similar, with the Rise 4 being a bit faster and the Vivo 2 climbing slightly better. The same applies to their lightweight versions, Livi and Soar. I think the Vivo 2 and Livi are excellent low-mid B wings, and it's time for the Rise 4 and Soar to be replaced.

Nova Ion 7, Advance Epsilon DLS, AD Vivo etc. Out of all the low to mid B's which is the top of the tree?
@flybubblecarlo Жыл бұрын
For everyone, none of them. It depends on the pilot. Pilot A: #1. Nova Ion 7, #2. Advance Epsilon DLS, #3. AD Vivo 2. Pilot B: #1. Advance Epsilon DLS, #2. AD Vivo 2, #3. Nova Ion 7. Pilot C: #1. AD Vivo 2, #2. Nova Ion 7, #3. Advance Epsilon DLS. Etc. The key is to match the pilot to the best wing for them. The same applies to all of the other gear. Plus you have to consider the whole kit.

Could you say something about the difference between vivo 1 and vivo 2
@flybubblecarlo Жыл бұрын
Sure: the Vivo 2 replaces the Vivo! 😜 Sorry, I've not had opportunity to test the Vivo yet. 🥲 Anyone else? 🤔

@@flybubblecarloI have the opposite problem :) I've flown the Vivo 1 but not the 2. I know a lot of people loved the Vivo 1, but I hated it. It made me feel very scared in thermals and very roll sensitive, so I was being thrown around in bullet thermals like crazy. And the wing communicated barely anything, it felt like flying blind. That said I was towards the bottom of the weight range so that could have played a role - there was another pilot flying the same size and with the same flying weight and they reported the exact same symptoms. I almost stopped flying because of that wing. But I did a test flight of the Advance XI and it opened my eyes to a new world. I bought it on the spot. Once I switched to the Advance XI, I felt far, far more secure and safe and confident and in control of the wing, even though it's a B+ wing (and I was still at the bottom of their recommended weight range)! Suddenly I was no longer afraid to thermal, and my average flight time per flight literally quadrupled overnight. Of course now I'm considering a BGD Lynx 2 even though I know Advance wings fit my pilot profile... Because I never learn anything it seems!

Great stuff at Air design. Just their wing bags are shitty...

@@flybubblecarlo I own a susi 16 for speedflying (flying down after biv), hike and fly and soaring. I tried the ufo bi. Amazing: we did thermics and also great for flying down after biv as a couple.

@@theeyeinthecloud Interesting. I've not yet had opportunity to test the Susi 4 or UFO Bi so good to hear some pilot feedback on these, thanks. I agree with you that their bags are not the best, which is why we've not listed them on our website. Which bags do you like best?
@theeyeinthecloud10 ай бұрын
@@flybubblecarlo I am meticulous with my wings so I fold them pretty neatly in tubebags for them to last. Some of my friends put their susi in a tubebag. I may do so after folding the leading edge properly.

I sold the wing, but kept the bag. Great bag for my use. (I did not have a Vivo, I had Rise 4).
