This is undoubtedly Flygon's Magnum Opus. Years of him honing his craft in storytelling, team building, video editing, and comedy writing have all culminated to this video. It tells a beautiful story, is one of the closest runs from a gameplay perspective in Nuzlocke history (literally down to one turn deciding the fate of the entire battle), somehow has incredible world building which I didn't even know was possible for a Monotype challenge, and overall has phenomenal pacing and editing choices in the music and visuals. There were a few moments of genuine heartbreak for me, when I found out that certain team members had to take the fall for their other teammates to survive. Roxie’s Koffing fight actually makes sense if you know Gen 5 AI. It views moves with guaranteed effects as status moves. So it sees clear smog as haze, and it sees bulldoze as scary face. OKAY so I'm not the only one. Isn't that weird? Everywhere I've looked online says it's supposed to have Sap Sipper as well! Either Bulbapedia and IGN are wrong, (and what a time to find that out, on a GRASS TYPE ONLY run!?) or he changed the Bouffalant's ability in his ROM to make the fight winnable. Low-key that's fine with me since that thing was a beast already, and if it was immune to grass moves on top of all that, possibly unkillable without a ferrothorn; however, Flygon is just normally a way more transparent dude than that... 🤔
