The advantage over the DJI Goggles 3 is that you can view other applications in multiple windows. It's great that the smartphone screen doesn't get too bright in the sunlight, and you can see the surroundings of where you are, not just the drone's line of sight, but the DJI Goggles 3 can do this too. Also, I don't think head tracking is possible with the Apple Vision Pro. So, I think the only thing that beats the DJI Goggles 3 is that you can view other applications in multiple windows. It's true that if you only see the drone's line of sight, you're a little worried about where you're flying, but if you look at the GPS map in multiple windows, you can feel at ease. I want to use this on a yacht. In my case, I have a Meta Quest 3, but with Immersed I can display the smartphone screen on the Meta Quest 3. The smartphone screen doesn't look good on a yacht in the strong sunlight. But with this, you can see it clearly and beautifully. However, I would like to see MR apps for yachts and outdoor activities. For example, I hope that outdoor MR apps such as a fish finder MR app or an MR app that shows the destination signs of mountain climbing routes will come out.

Imagine there being 3D 360 degree webcams at any cafe in the world, every sports stadium, every community celebration and essentially being transported to those places when wearing the headset.

With Vision Pro can you place something on the screen (like the iPhone screen) and have it stay in the same eyeliner view when you turn your head? What I mean by that is NOT the normal thing whereby the iPhone screen stays pinned to a certain position in 3d space but stays pinned in front of you in the same place so if you turn your head to the left you'll still have the iPhone screen dead in front of you? I'm thinking that would definitely help a little with VLOS or even just situational awareness of what's going on around you but then you'd still have the drone screen in front of you wherever you turn also?

It’s called a head locked HUD. Unfortunately those generally cause motion sickness. Some implementations are better than others, e.g. snap-to gaze/destination when head movement stops, etc.

Do you still need a portable Wi-Fi hotspot to make this work? Or should the devices just be able to see each other and connect via airplay even if you’re out in the middle of nowhere?

Also, had a drone business which I closed down five years ago because I’m still flying airplanes and couldn’t devote enough time to that on my flying schedule. I want to try the AVP with my Mavic Pro Platinum, Phantom 3 Pro, and not sure if it will work with my Phantom 4 Pro V2 with the controller screen which is android, or my DJI FPV? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Take care…

@Harry-lmao4 ай бұрын
Guess not too many people still use a controller plus smartphone attached to it (not really handy) since the more advanced RC 2 or pro conrollers (Android) already have an LCD integrated. Guess for screen mirroring on Quest3 that DeX software would work just fine but that requires to have sidequest and APKpure installed (workaround). Not sure about the latency and all. Need to try it out.

I use a rc2 and phone. My phone has 3x screen brightness of the rc2. Hard pass
@Harry-lmao4 ай бұрын
@@MyFriendlyPup Absolutely, I totally agree when it comes to the brightness, contrast and resolution. The Rc2 cant compete with the phones nowadays when it comes to this point although the Rc pro might be an option (1080p, 1000nits or whatoever features). Screen mirroring in VR glasses is the keyword here. DJI should commence to cooperate with Apple or Meta on this and make this technology a lil smarter. Perhaps this would even boost the purchase incentive.

I know you report on a lot of DJl products. Can you do a video on how the proposed ban on DJI products affects not just drones but all DJI products, and also talk about Skydios involvement on this legislation? I know it won't be immediate or affect the current products, but it will affect our industry significantly in the near future.

It does not. VLOS cannot be aided by cameras, binoculars, etc. So you'd still need a VO... guess Billy always has one just off screen 😅

Think you might be missing the point here. Firstly, you need to remember AVP is Apple’s 1st generation high end VR device. Do you actually think they aren’t going to make a cheaper version of this? @@Uchvryheid your analogy is off the mark. It's like saying you're paying for first class but you don't get to board first, enjoy better meals or your own bathrooms. You're basically flying coach at triple the cost just to sit closer to the front. The goggles are a novelty and don't really add value. That's not my thought, those are common amongst those who bought them. Imagine paying $100,000 for a Civic but try to justify it by saying it has heated/cooled leather seats and a Bose sound system.

Mates, whether or not first class is a waste of money, it’s a different thing compared to the Vision Pro. First class is an experience that a set of certain people enjoy. While the Vision Pro is a (Product) that is made specifically for developers in mind. Now I wouldn’t personally say that the Vision Pro is a waste of money, for the reason that I’m into the “VR and AR” space. But for a normal everyday person it probably would be a waste. Because they are not interested in that sort of thing. All I’m saying is that The Vision Pro is made for certain people, and you might not be that person it’s made for. No need to specify that someone’s analogy is incorrect, and no need to bring hate to someone’s interests. See ya! 👋
