On this new journey we are embarking on a 16 hour flight from Chicago (ORD) - Hong Kong (HKG) on Cathay's Pacific flagship first class cabin
There are a lot of standout moments in this video and the flight product in specifically, such as trying the traditional Chinese menu that Cathay offers, it was a packed multi course meal that took my palette on a journey of its own.
The food in order is as follows; (CX first class menu)
Caviar
Abalone + plum chicken soup
Braised ribs
Cheese plate

I'm just a regular dude also and, due to another airline's awards travel program, have flown Cathay Pacific 1st Class from SFO thru HKG to several SE Asian countries probably 15 times in the past. Cathay 1st and Business are fabulous experiences!! This was a great video experience reminder for me. God, how I can't wait to get back out. Hopefully next year, COVID situation permitting.

It seems like they revamp the service a little, a proper champagne glass and hot towel. And it's very brave of you to try abalone LOL The FA should have left you some bread for your cheese course.

also did you ask the flight attendant to make your bed? you can do that and they set up a blanket and a bed sheet and becomes a bed

Clarence Chan I told the flight attendant I request turn down service later on but ended up falling asleep and sleeping for like 8 hours 😇

DEN ROSE thank you for watching my video, the nose bleed wasn’t too bad thankfully I landed in Hong Kong the 20th of January earlier this year, I believe there were no reported cases in Hong Kong at the time so no procedures like there today

Ah, how I miss the pre-Covid days. FA's were more welcoming and talkative. Nowadays FA's act like zombies thinking the same thing you're thinking: "Don't touch me or breathe in my face !" I can see why lotta folks like this vid. A very spontaneous feel to it. And you're a brave man making the right choice ordering the local cuisine, Asian carriers do it best ! But the soup ain't for dipping 😄 Good job, bro !

I was expecting better of Cathay. The food didn't look that amazing - it is just they served a lot of it. You should have shown the dessert. It looked like you were eating at PF Changs with cheese plate and caviar thrown in. I wish the seat was a little more private and you could block the aisle out when you sleep. I see you used miles. I've never seen first class open up on Cathay when using AA miles , only business.

Good review but I am really weary of EVERY flight reviewer having to sit in seat 1A. It would be nice to see some other perspectives of the cabin once in awhile, but none of you seem willing to provide it.

Lounge in Chicago share with different airlines, first class lounge in Hong Kong is fabulous, first class lounge in Hong Kong does not co-mingle with business class lounge, however, every lounge in Chicago is below averages. Only US Polaris is most upgraded, the international lounges in Chicago international airport is not the same as most foreign countries.
