For those who are interested, the accident at Ft Lauderdale Exec was a Cessna 340. It happened on March the 2nd, which gives you some indication of how long it takes Steveo to get these videos up. Apparently, the Cessna had a problem with one of the main landing gear, which didn't deploy correctly, and collapsed on landing. There was only the pilot on board, and he was not injured. It took most of the day to remove the aircraft from the runway, which is why there weren't any arrivals. The aircraft was damaged, obviously, but no fire reported.

Was a CNC machinist for Cessna 94-96. Love the Caravan. Did a bunch of front landing gear operations for her. If I wasn’t scared of puking and had a few million bucks this would be the one I’d like to fly.

Just purchased a TBM 850....Ahhh FSX Steam version. Wonderful airplane. It is a pleasure to fly. Landing takes some practice. Very powerful airplane. Race car in the sky.

I have also been introduced to another side of aviation, I received a cadetship to get AFIS training at Port Alfred in South Africa which I am loving. Caravan is so fun to fly in. I went on a island to island flight and the pilot realised how much I love planes so he let me on the right seat to fly with him. Very fun airplane to fly.

I have flown in both a Caravan and a Grand Caravan. I was the only passenger on the Caravan so I got the co-pilots seat. Much better harness than the passenger seat belts. When we landed the pilot, who mostly carried freight, apologized for the rough landing. I reminded him that it was not a rough landing, and I was not any more fragile than the freight he had delivered.

Amen. The Caravan looks like so much fun down low and slow. All you need is to stay just ahead of the prop a mile or two. Never get behind your airplane. How far do you need to stay ahead of the TBM 850? I'm thinking next Thursday.

Those airports are so close together, it looks like you could have ridden your skateboard down from Executive to get the Grand Caravan........ And speaking of the Grand Caravan, I remember seeing the the 'original' Caravans in my youth (mid 60's) at my local airport (Santa Monica) and thinking with the single engine it's a wonder it can actually get off the ground, And now you are flying a MUCH larger GC that holds what - 10 people, PLUS all their luggage? Amazing........

Looks like a King Air landed with the gear up...allegedly! I was needing a video fix so I started watching your old ones over again and I saw one where you said you wouldn't use an iPad...LOL! I said that too. Ever fly one in ice? At midnight? Over Wilkbar Pa in November of 87? When they were BRANDY new and Cessna had no idea what they would become without boots on the wheel struts, or the cargo pod Fedex had installed? As a European and pilot of a (much older) Socata myself, I'm partial to the TBM, but I enjoy the Caravan, as well and realise both have their uses. I don't think anyone is "better" in general. The best plane is always the one I get to fly, so most days my little Rallye is the best :)
