He practically starts by complaining about "Roots" being on the air. Yes. He is being a dick. He is being a racist dick. Does he have no idea about how racist the USA was prior to, during, and after the Civil War? How stupid is Bill Burr? Did he have to look at, and pay attention to, "whites only" water fountains and building entrances when he was young? These are things that happened. They were a thing. Look at photos. This is not made up. The USA was wildly racist even after the end of the Civil War. While the USA was mostly being decent about helping to save the free world in WWII it was *still* deeply racist at home. How does anyone find this uber-white BS funny? How about, "no pale, bristle-haired, ignorant, racist assholes" fountains or entrances? Would that bother him? Oh, no wait, that kind of actual oppression was only for black people, so it is funny - let's make a joke. Bill Burr seems to think that racism, 1) does not exist against black people in the USA, and 2) is *really* funny anyway. Fuck him. This kind of acceptance of scum like Bill Burr is a problem for the USA.

You are strawmaning the people you claim are rascist. If you were to talk to them you would see they are actually culturist. If that is better is for you to decide. Ask any anthropologist you trust. IMO if we ever can grow as a country beyond racism(not likely because it serves powerful forces to keep us divided), it will come from stuff like this. Bill can goof on all races and ethnicities and can stay below the line where we can all see the stupidity of the divisiveness. No lecturing or projecting guilt will change minds. Just connecting through mutual humor and humanity

@troyowens29032 жыл бұрын
Hey Jintman...idk how old you are but I'm 60 and have lived my entire life in NYC. Obviously the 60''s and early 70's were a time of racial strife. But sometime in the late 70's/early 80's that changed...and changed radically...for the better. And that change lasted til the Bush/Gore election and the "hanging chads" issue in Florida. That issue started the deep divide in the country...and it had nothing to do with race. It's was pure ideology. The thing that made things racial was Obama's election. And not because he was Black...remember he could never have been elected without a majority of White votes. It was after the election when he and his policies were criticized by the opposing Party (as happens to EVERY new President) that all of the sudden any criticism of him/his policies was branded "racist" by the Left wing of the Democratic Party. I don't know or care about anyone's opinion of Obama or his policies but...to think that ANY President can or should be immune from criticism BECAUSE of their skin color and that any such criticism is rooted in racism is absurd!! That is exactly the point where race relations took a major step back in time. And I do agree with you that there are powers that be that revel in keeping us apart and profit nicely off it...including the MSM and social media.
@mikeb359 Жыл бұрын
yes! Oprah made that comment in regards to criticism of Obama administration as being "Largely due to the color of his skin" so if Oprah's logic were accurate then it would apply to any past president criticism by non-white people. It's clearly an effective tool(Division creation) to build & maintain a base. Racism does exist and always will due to many factors. When it's understood that people of all colors are participants and the political narrative behind it, then we will see less of it. Especially amongst same race demographics that accuse others as a whole that mysteriously doesn't include them.

Excellent point. It's part of Hollywood's business model. Reuse the same subplot over and over with slight variations and different characters. I have been saying this for years and the first time I heard this bill burr bit I was like, "yes!!!! Finally someone else says this!!" I remember when that Keven Costner track team movie came out (the movie was called McFarland) all my family was telling me to watch the movie because it was a good movie. I said, "let me guess, Keven Costner somehow is forced to coach a team of Mexicans and he doesn't like it because he is from an all white town and he has biases towards non-white people. Then he gets to know them and finds out how prejudiced he was and changes his ways. Also somehow the Mexican team is going to face over the top racism at every turn during the movie, yet they are going to be portrayed as if they can do no wrong, etc. Then they are going to win despite all the racism, bla bla bla" My friends looked at me like I had already seen the movie. Nope, I told them I don't need to see the movie because they have made the same movie hundreds of times already............................
