Hi Emily and Aaronn . Nice video. Seeing that red and white 57 brings back some good days for me . I bought a 1956 two door hardtop in 1972 , I paid 200 dollars for . Still had the plastic on the seats . Smelt like itb was new . But it had over two hundred thousand on it and it was immaculate . Belive it or not it had a 283 . The late 56s had some test vehicles with 283s . I loved that car . Than i got all pissed up smashed it all to shit Wreced the whole passenger side most of the front end . A person in Chilliwack BC wanted it for a funny car so so i signed the papers he gave me a dollar . Bye Bye my beautiful chevy . The only one in my life i owned I love your channel . I am 73 now i love watching you younger people get at it . Especially you and aaronn just cool people . My heart goesa out to you .Thank you great enjoy ment . .my mining truck is getting a 35 amp hydroen generator . I am going to use carbon fibre plates I am not going to cheap out . I am going to by the very best quality materials . Building it is very simple .

This could be the future of fueling our cars! I've never heard of Hydrogen running our automobiles, it's crazy!
@iambosscoАй бұрын
I love the concept. I've been watching 'pro and con' videos about HHO cars for years now. The "Big Oil influenced government" says this form of fuel for cars doesn't work but we all know who writes THOSE reports. So I'm looking forward to the final finished car just to see if HHO as a fuel works or not. If for no other reason than to see this build prove beyond any doubt that big oil and the government have been colluding against HHO (and all other forms of propulsion NOT oil related) all these years for their own gain.

Greetings, we here in the states have run test programs with diesel busses that were converted to hydrogen. Seemed they had issues keeping the water separate from the oil during usage, keeping the oil hot enough to drive the moisture out while still lubricating the rings and cylinder walls with the very high compression (25:1) needed to properly combust.

Have watched you an Aaron for quite awhile now. I found this very interesting because before the internet 30 some years ago there were people making their own Hydrogen in the back of a square body with a 350 chevy. I think there was even a CBS 60 minutes episode with someone doing it maybe with a ford truck. I looked into it back in the day but was enjoying the advantage of cheap diesel in the early 90s with all my 6.2 Detroit Diesels. They were making there own Hydrogen gas with electrolisis with a 12 volt system in the car itself and it worked back then. Enjoyed the boat content with your transom in the big boat, will be doing a lot of that in the near future with my project boats with Mercruisers.

I own a Ford Fusion hybrid and really like it. The problem with battery powered vehicles at this time is longest range between FULL charges is around three hundred miles. My brother lives four hundred miles away from me. I suppose I could charge the car while I'm eating IF I can find a charging station, it won't be a full charge but it will get me there and I hope he has the proper setup so I can charge my car. The first automobile manufacturer who will provide/arrange the proper infrastructure to refuel hydrogen vehicles will open new alternatives to electric vehicles. How about a hydrogen internal combustion/Electric hybrid that will run a hundred miles for commuting to work on the battery with the hydrogen powered engine for longer distance travel. And just so you know I managed to get off of my soap box without falling.
@brokenwrench404Ай бұрын
I think a diesel hybrid would be the cats meow. A small diesel that gets 80 mpg plus the electric hybrid system would add say another 30mph. Plus you get greater range with a diesel

Great cause and what a beautiful car, and near zero emissions is a great concept, however I would rather see hydrogen in a newer car to experiment with, and a 383 or 454 in this build. Unless you have a fairly sophisticated catalytic converter system, a combustion engine fuelled with hydrogen (H2) will still produce nitrogenoxides (NOx), as both nitrogen (N) and oxygen (O2) comes from the air, not the fuel.
@shophemiАй бұрын
We have run EPA emission certification tests on our supercharged LS powered hydrogen truck. Our highest recorded NOx, with zero exhaust treatment, is 0.083. During most of the testing, we recorded zero NOx.
@KenFriisHansenАй бұрын
You recorded 0.083 in what units and during which test? Explain how you avoid creating NOx in a cumbustion engine please, I'm sure the scientific communty will be very interested. I myslef am an automotive eningeer with +30years of experience in combustion and aftertreatment (at JLR and GM), and I would love to understand your approach
@shophemi26 күн бұрын
@@KenFriisHansen We only recorded NOx during the EPA US06 test. It only happened at 3 points during the test. Many companies are trying to figure out how we do this. I do not plan to show them. Ultimately someone else will find the way, but they will have to test and develop the same way we did. I also worked at GM for 26 years.

With the exhaust of a hydrogen engine being water vapor, won't that cause an exhaust system to freeze shut at low temperatures such as -40?
