While I have a Ryobi 18 volt glue gun, I also have a 30 plus year old Black & Decker cordless glue gun. It plugs into the wall and heats up an element in the glue gun and has a color changing pad that changes colors as it heats up. Works pretty well. I can see this newer cordless glue gun may have a good use for me.

@FlynndoggWoodwork I was just thinking about how long I've had it. My buddy gave it to me when I was around 20 years old, so it's probably close to 35 years old. My father took it from me and used it all the time. It is now on my workbench downstairs. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Cuz for the review, I’m knee deep into the Ryobi tool platform, including a few of the old blue and gray tools. I was considering a few of your reviewed tools but I’m pausing now. I’m neon green and gray through and through but sometimes I feel Ryobi is trying to fill a market demand rather than the consumer confidence. I really do trust your channel.

I think you hit the nail on the head Billy! I would say about 80% of the tools I get from Ryobi work great.... and then there are the duds. I think the light is great and the glue gun, but I do have concerns long term about the scredriver and the nailer. These might be more "home use" products. Really appreciate you sharing and watching!

Dogg man, Ryobi has some good stuff. We've been using the cordless nailer for ten years or so without any real problems (at the time they were about $100 cheaper than the competition). How 'bout, "forward to reverse," we don't like going backwards. What other things in your life are "too big?" Yeah, we're listening: you said fits into the "palm of her hand." Come on, Dogg.
@FlynndoggWoodwork
@FlynndoggWoodwork 5 күн бұрын
Man, I must be losing it! :). That nailer is probably one of the best made Ryobi tools out there. I've had about 2 other ones since then and nothing works better especially for the price.

@@FlynndoggWoodwork We love our Ryobi; though we do have the DeWalt 18 and 23 gauge nailers and use them all the time. The other great Ryobi tool we have is the "shop" blower. It's a smaller copy of a leaf blower and Dogg, man, it works good.

That's a great synopsis of it wiredperformance! I actually just brought up the screw driver to the house for my wife to use on some things she's putting together. It might just stay up there. I already have the Ryobi glue gun and the battery fits right into the gun keeping glue hot without needing to go back in that base. In video it looks like the glue stick is the smaller diameter stick. Mine uses the 1/2" stick. I keep one of my small batteries in the gun at all times and ready to go.
@FlynndoggWoodwork
@FlynndoggWoodwork 8 күн бұрын
Great eye Ken - yes, these glue sticks seem to be a little smaller in diameter than standard glue sticks which kind of sucks, but i bet it has something to do with needing less heat to melt the thinner diameter.

the light would be great for night fishing or on a Kayak at night....just last week I threw away my ryobi small screw driver (old style with BUILT IN--NOT REMOVABLE BATTERY) IT DIED AFTER 3 OR 4 YEARS, never liked the idea that I had to stop and recharge it and thought, why not a removable battery.... BTW it died via a locked up geardrive, the drive totally fell apart and froze up... THEY ARE NOT MADE FOR HEAVY DUTY WORK...BUT THATS PRETTY OBVIOUS... still was a very handy tool...

Torx (star) bits don't work worth a damn on phillips head screws. 😁 The screw head isn't always undr my control. Have you seen machine screws with a Torx head? Sometimes the only large machine screws that I can find are slotted. Then, there are sheetrock screws... I use all sorts of bits, though I don't my drivers on slotted screws. They're too flaky and the bits are horrible. Cabinet hardware uses pozidrive heads. I bought the 9.6V tire inflator. It says it's good for "topping off" tires. It's junk. That was the end of my foray into their 9.6V line. There are a lot of 18V tools that are very nice (16ga, 18ga, and pin nailers) and some that I use almost every day. The glue gun is the best I've used and the heat gun is amazing at taking off stick labels and heat-shrink tubing. It's not a heavy-duty gun (HF has a very good, cheap, corded heat gun).

This is great information kwilliams! Thank you so much for sharing this. I've looked at that 9.6V tire inflator, I'm glad I didn't get it! I'm really trying to check out some more of the other brands available at the big box stores in the near future. I'm really intersted in Makita and Milwaukee, just need to justify spending the extra cash. I guess I can use this channel as a reason! :). Love the comment and thanks so much as always for watching!

@@FlynndoggWoodwork The Ryobi 18V tire inflators are very good. The gauge on my older one is off by a mile but with another gauge, it works very, very, well. I just bought their new 18V inflator.
