Hi Scott, guess you're en route, safe travels and a premature welcome to the UK. Hope the weather improves some.

Try to get outside the UK and see the differences in air traffic controllers, they are very special in the UK. How in Germany you need one in tower to be able to land, France… It is only little more complicated to get out and in from the UK due to the Brexit, but within Schengen it is easy between countries. Your’re welcome to Sweden! Visited Duxford last year and it was about 4,5 hours trip from Sweden in a Mooney with headwind. What I found amazing with that airport, since it has often delays due to warbirds taking off and land, there was no well shown navigational holding points around the airport. You have to pick one yourself.

Have a great trip Scott. The U.K. needs a man of your caliber to advise them of a proper funcoonal Airspace system.

Had to laugh! I don't think I'll make any headway. Go with the flow and pass message....

Welcome to the UK. Operate out of Fowlmere near Duxford and Cambridge. An old US Mustang base. The US flag is always flown at the site of a small museum. Airfield active as far back as WW 1. Good coffee and Deli in Village and Pub once frequented by Mustang pilots. Fly a RV 14. Hope weather is fair for your visit. If passing please make contact.

Welcome to our Kingdom Sir, it's fairly new, but we've minted fresh coins in time for your visit. Enjoy our Medieval weather, cramped airspace & ever imminent coastline - on any heading! If you've time, fly North & sample the delightful Scottish Highlands, although the last Ice Age left their IMC wearing a granite sporran, on a good day you can clearly see the next cliff face. Just be aware, if camping, that feral haggis WILL attack any parked fabric aircraft. Have fun : )

Scott random question: if you were trying to learn how to perform an overhead approach maneuver, what would you recommend the best way to both learn and practice it?

Might be the subject of a good video.
