When FM was trying to get their 1st record deal, no one wanted them. The CBC put out album 1 taking a big chance. First time I heard POS on a new FM Rock station, I ran out and bought the album.I wasn't alone. In a day when Disco ruled, they were way ahead of their time. That first album sounds as good today as it did 30 years ago. It fits today's Industrial Techno! I had the record, then the cassette, then the CD and now sits on my HD in MP3. It will be on every device I buy in the future.

This has to be one of my favourite songs in my lifetime. I must have heard it at the exact right moment as a child in the early 80’s

This reminds me of CITI FM in Winnipeg in the 14 months or so after they went on air (April 1978) and before "Bro. Jake's" anti-disco movement ended much of the innovation and variety the station had become known for among my high school peers. That magical period introduced me to this band and prompted me to buy the album. Of course, I may just be nostalgic for that old Marantz receiver with the big blue tuning dial that I had in my bedroom back then.

My favorite music video. The mix of the song and the aerial footage has kept me inspired for years whenever I think something is impossible. The most incredible thing i saw in my life was an F 16 hover about 40 feet above the ground pointed verticaly for about 10 seconds. Then shoot straight into the sky. Pilot had balls of steel.

Back in the 60s and 70s when the Israeli pilots were still flying Fouga Magisters(max speed 450mph), they were so skilled at handling the old buzzards that they actually would fly the Mig21s into the sides of mountains in their homeland. That's no shit. Read the book Zanek and learn something besides the easy and obvious.

I've seen the CBC waste a hell of a lot more money on many less worthwhile things. CanCon was supposed to help Canadian Artists, but in the end it made it harder for them reach the international stage. I agree that the gov screws up when they try to compete with the private sector. I can think of many extremely talented Canadians who were not accepted in this country until they were big hits in Europe...Rush, Saga etc. A record deal is the difference between an artist and a STARVING artist.
