I just added an axe3 and have a question regarding in ears and an FRFR. I’m looking to add in ears soon but not everyone I play with uses them. So I need to have some stage volume and have an frfr. With the axe3 would the set up be output 1 to front of house, output 2 to frfr and output 3 to in ears unit? Thanks.

Yes, you may need to convert the cable to an XLR depending on what type of Input your in-ear system uses. My personal one uses a combo jack so it accepts either. Also, if you're running stereo in ears, you'll either need two cables for two inputs on your unit.

Hi Rosh, question for you. I want to run Output 1 Left to FOH, Use Output 2 L/R for Stereo IEM's, but I also like to use a real cab on stage. Can I Use Output 1 Right for my Cab and just control the volume with my power amp since it shares the feed going into FOH?

Yes, you can do this, however you will be sending cab processing to your guiter cabinet on stage. Which can sound fine if you dig the tone then go for it!

Your videos are really informative. Thanks for your input. We are running an Behringer x32 as our InEar rack with an independend split for FOH. I ´ ve never tried to feed my inear system directly. I just run my fm3 into the x32 and from that it goes out into our inears. But it doesn’t sound perfectly right to me. Would the direct connection from the fm3 into the ears affect the sound?

You may have some EQ/Compression on the channel(s) that you're feeding into the X32. Just double check those settings first. Then your tone should be identical as if you were monitoring straight from your FM3. Keep in mind if you run direct from your FM3 to your ears -and- also get a feed from the X32 (simultaneously) there will be some phasing issues because of the digital latency the X32 introduces coming back to you compared to monitoring direct

Great video Rosh! I have the same PSM200 unit, which I love! I was intrigued to see how you run your IEM, but can you provide some clarification please? I have the AX8 not the FM3 and I run Mono also. I run from Output 1 XLR Left of the AX8 to FOH. I have Output 1 in the Audio tab set to Sum L/R and the Output 1 volume control on the front of the unit set around noon. Then I run a 1/4 cable from Channel 1 of the PSM, into Aux Send 1 on the mixing desk. Then I simply put the Aux 1 volume control on my guitar channel on the mixing desk at noon and don't touch it. I then use Channel 1 volume on the PSM to turn my guitar up and down in my IEM. I also adjust the volume of all the other channels on the desk that I need to hear (backing tracks, Lead singer etc) via Aux 1, for my IEM mix. I can do this because we mix from stage so the Mixing desk is next to me and the PSM sits next to the desk. Is there any "audio" advantage of setting up the IEM your way or my way? I'm still getting the pure sound of the AX8 in my ears via my send. aren't I? Basically, both you and I have control over our guitars, just in different ways. So I have a few questions please: 1: Is there is any "audio" difference to the sound in my ears in the way you run your IEM versus mine, or is it simply a "preference"? It's the same sound, whether it's coming from the Output 1 of my AX8 into my PSM or from my Aux send, yeah? 2: Should I change Sum L/R to Copy L/R even though I run my IEM different to you, or is Copy L/R used mainly for set ups like yours? So basically, is running Sum L/R wrong in my set up? There is another way to run the PSM with the Axe FX stuff, or even a guitar cab that's miked up. You can run out of Output 1 XLR Left of the Axe FX (or from the microphone that's miking your cab if someone is using a traditional head and cab setup - no Axe FX), into Channel 1 of the PSM. Then run XLR OUT of the back of Channel 1 of the PSM into the mixing desk (or stage box). You can also run your microphone (if you sing) XLR into Channel 2 of the PSM and XLR out of Channel 2 to the mixing desk (or stage box) and now you have full control of your guitar AND your vocals, independently in your IEM via the two volume controls on the front of the PSM! Of course, your Aux send controls on the desk should be set to say noon on your guitar and vocal channel and then your PSM controls the final volume to your IEM. Thanks for your videos - they are extremely helpful!

@@RoshRoslin Thanks for replying Rosh. After re-reading my comment above, I can see how 'over the top' it was! All good mate. I'm going to run it like you showed in the video with 'Copy L/R' on the AX8. I tried it at a gig last week and the guitar sound was way better in my IEM than the sound coming from the desk into my IEM. There's something to be said about direct sound from your Fractal. Thanks again.

Great video. Explained fully and even an old fart like me can figure it out! Quick question...what is the airturn pedal for?
