Great video! Thanks for putting this out. I'm putting together a FM3 pedalboard and would like to switch between a wah effect and whammy effect with the expression pedal. Currently, I'm using an exterior switch to do this, and the functionality of the SP-1 looks to be a better, more convenient solution.

Hello Doug, I have a Mission EP1-KP and I am using 2 TRS to TRS cables but so far I have not been able to achieve the configuration despite following your tutorial exactly because the range for both volume and wha is too short and I have not able to make them independent despite stepping on the switch.

I don't have my FM3 anymore, but I think your issue might be that the pedal you have is designed to be used with a Kemper.

I’ve tried to follow along with setting up my SP-1, but then I notice that on my FM9T there’s not an option for “Pedal 2/Tip and Ring”.

The FM9T doesn't have that option, for some reason. I know that there are some guys tho who swear that they got their SP-1 to work with their FM9, so I'd suggested searching the Fractal Forum for more info. Good luck!

Hello Doug, thank you so much for the video. I’ve been trying to make this setup happen for a while but with a Lehle Dual Expression instead of the SP1, but no luck! Do you think same applies with Lehle?

If I'm looking at the Lehle pedal right, the 50K jack is the normal "expression pedal" jack that would work with the FM3 via a TRS cable. The 10K output is for the "switch" and should be connected with a TS cable. It looks like you can program each jack to use TS, TRS or RTS. So theoretically it looks like it could work. Hope this helps!

You can try it, but odds are that it won't work. Mission changed the toe switch jack at some point, so it's not consistent. The PDL 2 jack on the FM9 is TRS, not TS. I think you have to have an older SP-1 for it to work right with the FM9.

It is difficult to find a Mission expression pedal for free sale here (they are simply nowhere to be found), only to order from the USA and deliver it in unknown ways. The situation with sanctions affects this, but we Russian musicians do not give up and continue to play rock and roll in the best traditions, we have wonderful cover bands of famous rock bands of the planet here. I will hiccup the Mission SP-1 -MT pedal, as I have already found out on the Internet that this particular model exactly fits the Fractal Audio AX8! Thank you friend and good luck to you!

No, it won't. Line 6 expression pedals are wired like a variable resistor where only one side of the pot is used. Fractal pedals are wired like a voltage divider and all 3 pot lugs are used. Thanks for watching!

Hi - yes, I used 2 TRS cables. I never had a problem with having to hit the switch twice. Is your SP1 recent, or is it an older model?

Hey Doug, do I need to use both pedal inputs for this to work? Ideally I’d like to have the SP-1 on pedal 1 controlling volume and Wah and a mission TT-2 on pedal 2 input giving me more switches. Thanks!

Yes, because the TS cable is for the off/on switch, which lets you use the wah. Thanks for asking!

Hello Doug! Thanks for your video. Is it possible to use a Y cable with the mission pedal since Fm3 only has 2 jacks for pedals and one of them I already use for a dual footswitch? In this vídeo you used both jacks for the mission sp-1 with two trs cable right?

No, it isn't. The Line 6 expression pedal only works with Line 6 gear because of the way that it's wired.

I'm not sure. There are guys on the Fractal Forum who say that the SP1 works with the FM9, but Mission has changed the wiring on the SP1 at some point.

@@DougBsDigitalDen thanks Doug, I actually got the sp1-nd for half the price, but when assigning Control I don't see the same options on the FM9 as shown on your video , there's only Pedall 1, 2 and 3. I can setup for wah with no issues but not able to assign volume PAN the way you did here. Appreciate your replies

hello Doug! i followed your instruction but even if i dont stomp on the wah pedal, the wah is still activated in my mission sp1 pedal. all it takes is just to be rolled forward without even pushin on the pedal button to activate the wah. no luck for me. hopefully you can guide me

Did you save the preset? This isn't global, you have to set it up in every preset that you want to use this particular SP-1 setup.

All I can say is try it again from the beginning and make sure that you follow every step. You're using an FM3, correct?

Yes it does. If you go to 1:19 in the video, I explain that the FM3 allows for 2 switches per jack, where the FM9 only allows for one. Older SP-1 pedals use a TS jack for the switch, but the newer ones use a TRS jack. If you open up the bottom of your SP-1, you can see if the switch jack is TRS or TS.

Want my sp1 to give me bass tone at heel and treble at toe like stand alone wah, but sound is about 20% of sweep and no sound before! How to fix? Now is fine if you go bast like disco wah😂. Like to leave wah on full treble or heel position , bassy in some songs.

Hi Doug, what a great video. I am using a Mission Engineering SP1-L6H with my FM9, but somehow I can't make it work. When trying to calibrate the pedal, the shifter barely moves / has almost no range. I´ve been trying it with a Y-cable to TRS and with an TRS cable from Output 1 (Expression) of the Pedal. Can the SP1-L6H even work with a Fractal unit? Or is it the FM9 in particular? Thanks and keep it up!!

Doesn't a TRS Y cable get split to 2 TS cables at one end? It needs TRS-to-TRS to make it work. Hopefully I didn't misunderstand!

I guess that is the difference between FAS and Line6 products, which seem to use TS for expression...I had hoped that my S1-L6H was similar to the pedal in your video, but apparently it isn't.
