Could have changed by now but the preseason thing at least at the start of fm18 was counter productive because you pay them a shit ton to play and you lose money. Maybe it changed in a later update

Hi I'm doing a RTG with a club in the 3rd Portuguese division. I'm currently in March and 80k in debt (will probably end the season with 120K in debt), but I have a parent club that will pay me 35K, that should leave me 85K in debt (I don't what the prize money is, but I will finnish around mid table). I'm 650 € p/m over my wage budget (5.5K p/m), I renewed a few players' deals and there others that are either not goog enough or they want too much money. This should leave me with 10/15 players for next season and 1.5K to spend on wages. I have a 16yo striker that is already 3star, should I sign him on a permanent deal? (he wants around 300€ p/m he has a youth contract, 130€ p/m but I think that othet clubs may try to poach him). There are other 17/18 yo free agents that I will buy to fill in the gaps, but the issue is that the clubs in my division only make free signings, we don't have money to spend, is it worth to sign these kids and develop them despite the fact that I will probably won't be able to sell them? I am also paying 6K on wages to staff (will reduce that for sure) this is my highest expense along with "others". I'm organizing 2/3 friendlies each month and making 1K or 1.5K each month (500 per game), I can't get anything higher because my stadium only has 400seats. Any tips?

Francisco Melo definitely sign the 16yo striker ASAP. To save money and get good players, loan loan loan. Make the most of the loan market, take every chance you get to loan any players (a lot of top league clubs will look to loan young prospects to clubs low league like yours) and also tell your board to search for a affiliate club.

I've been in the red with Manchester United lots of times and failed financial fair play for the league But never got a points deduction Does anyone know why ? Thanks.

Those financial fair play rules are a bit hard to pinpoint. When you see yourself in the red, as you will fail the financial fair play rule, it's an estimation based on current spending, usually when you spend more than you gain, in the transfer window, or when wages get increased due to contracts, you'll go into red, as your financial advisor will tell you something like "if you keep raising the wages this way every month from now on, you're gonna be into trouble". But once you stop spending that much and gain more than your expenses, the value starts decreasing, and you'll be in the green again. That rule is not really well explained in the game. Don't bother too much with it. Especially on a big club, there's no way that you will have enough funds for transfer and wages so you'll spend more than you'll get from tickets, TV rights, sponsorships. It can be dangerous if you're a small club that's doing well. Let's say you play with a small club, you promote it, maybe win FA cup or something like that, then you'll get all those contract fees going, for promotion, for winning the cup, and your club does not have such a great income to cover those expenses, so you might fail it.
