LOL... all these "Sikh Gurus" all 10 of them... were HINDUS... born & raised Hindus... the only one to have the name SINGH is Dashmesh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (His Holiness the 10th Guru). He was born & raised & reigned as HHINDU in a HINDU family, His name was GOBIND RAI. When he formed his first commando group of 5 men dedicated to him from among his followers, "sikh" (or shishya or disciples), he had them take a pledge of allegiance that they will fight for the defense & survival of the Hindu Dharma, population, & society & nation, which was being slaughtered indiscriminately by Aurangzeb the almost last of the mughal "emperor" The first 5 Sikh were all HINDUS & from all parts of India. The panth as it was called, is initially comprised by those men who were the eldest sons from the Hindu families... I am one of those... 4-5 generations ago, both my paternal & maternal side ancestors decided to send & offer one of their sons in the service of Dashmesh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji . The descendents of those became Sikhs. To say that Sikhs are different from Hindus & are the "oppressed minority" in India is exactly the same as saying that the American Military is different from the Americans,& is the "oppressed minority"i in USA. vasago125 Waheguru is the One Creator Lord who created the entire Universe, the 3 realms, this realm, heaven, and hell, the angels and demons, planets and oceans, as well as human beings since time began. The One Lord can have many names like Yahweh in Christianity, Allah in Islam + the 99 names of Allah prayer in Islam, Ram, Gopal, or any other. Ram means he is present everywhere, Gopal means care taker of the Earth. so God's attributes are also used as his name as well. There was no one before the One Lord, and there will only be the One Lord left when the One decides to destroy the Creation. In the end the One Lord is the only True being, while everything else is an illusion, therefore, those connected to the One Lord are also True. Everything else is destined for destruction and death, hence not withstanding the test of time, and therefore passing illusions. While the One was the same in the past, in the present, and future. That's also why Sikhs also commonly call Waheguru "Akal," which means outside of time, or unaffected by time. Kal means bound by time and its affects, the "A" in front therefore means the opposite of Kal, or Akal.

I don't think Today's Christians actually even understand Jesus Christ at all. His preaching during the time alerted the government officials, because it was empowering people to seek spirituality within instead of relying on what a select clergy tells them. The religious leaders of the time saw their power dwindling and Christ was seen as a threat. He was then crucified and gotten rid of as a religious blasphemer. The religious governing body painted him as a common criminal, which is why the crucifixion punishment was given. Crucifixion was reserved for the common criminals in those times. Many of our ancestors have connected to the One Lord through meditation on the One's Name, just as Christ was connected. I don't think today's Christians understand this, they don't strive to connect to God, but instead expect God to be offered on a silver platter, and instead have begun to follow an institutionalized version of Christianity similar to the institutionalized version of religion that Christ was trying to get rid of 2,000 years ago. The devil is in the details, not the superfluous slogans of institutionalized religion.

The Gurus warned us if this mistake, the goal of religion is to connect to God, the prophet/guru entity functions as the messenger or a liaison between the follower and God, the function of the prophet is therefore to connect you the follower to God. When this does not occur the prophet is either not doing his job or the follower is not listening. I am a Christian, but I know something about Sikhism and Sikh Americans have every good start at being model citizens. I believe in God-given gifts such as "Freedom of Conscience", Liberty, and the "Pursuit of happiness". These are Biblical/Judeo-Christian principles that have roots in other cultures as well, and similar principles exist in Sikhism. In general, the values of Sikhism work very well alongside Judeo-Christian values. If we compare Christian and Sikh holy writings, while stark differences are there, neither religious group is EVER called upon by their God to force others to submit to their specific theology. In contrast, the writings of Mohammad (the Quran) and the Hadiths and Sunna associated with him, while sharing *some* similar principles toward fellow Muslims, clearly teach that all non-Muslims must ultimately be brought under Mohammad's teachings BY FORCE as necessary - and these same writings call upon Muslims to carry out this goal using various Islamic strategies. Quran-loyal Islam (that regards Mohammad as the highest prophet) can NEVER be a long term ally to Sikhs or Christians, because the ONLY basis in Quran-loyal Islam for principles like "Freedom of Conscience" for all religions is merely as a TEMPORARY measure until Muslims can overthrow it. Quran-loyal Islam is contrary to the US Constitution. Sikhs, in general, can easily swear allegiance to the US Constitution in all honesty and integrity. The only Muslims who can honestly swear allegiance to the US Constitution are Mulsims by birth only, who really do not believe in the teachings of Mohammad and the holiness of the Quran. There are MANY of these, yes - but whenever even a small percentage of them start getting serious about the teachings of Mohammad... they will at the same time begin drifting away from the principles of the US Constitution. Not so with Christianity & Sikhism.

I believe that the teachings of the Bible will be a LOT more accepted the more we as Christians mature spiritually, and accept the fact that the God of the Bible never promised 20th Century believers that the Hebrew language and culture from which the Bible originated could be "conquered intellectually" the way we want to do as modern English speakers and writers. And I believe that the more mature we get, the less abrasive and insulting we will be toward those who, like the Sikhs, share a lot more values with us than we acknowledge at present. Sikhism begins from Middle-Eastern and Asian cultural perspective in the first place, so it doesn't have to struggle so much to filter through the many dictates (some very honorable, and some rather vain at best) of Western culture.

That's because the EU is corrupt. They are using the economies of multiple European nations to create the euro just to benefit a select few in charge of that singular banking system while at the same time restricting economic independence of the European countries they are leeching off of. Including controlling immigration, which I'm not sure has anything to do with a central bank. European countries should have their own currencies and economies in order to ensure economic and political independence, instead of letting a select few in charge of the euro control them. Sikhs have historically been for less powerful central governments or a decentralized government. This ensures a single person does not take power and abuse it. Honestly I don't think Christians even understand Christianity, Sikhism is probably most similar to what Christ was preaching before he was martyred by the state religion of that time. The function of a prophet is to connect the follower to God, not to become the all and end all of the religion. Christ is respected not because he is Christ but because he is connected to the higher being, and his job on earth was to help others connect as well. When you remove God from the religion and focus solely on the prophet, you are not letting the prophet complete his function, God is suppose to be the end goal, not the prophet. We call him a savior because he teaches us how to connect to God, if we aren't connecting to God then the prophet's work is fruitless. Therefore when a religion becomes nothing but about the prophet, it becomes a cult because the importance for connecting to God is lost, and hence God himself is lost from the religion. This is the state of modern day Muslims and Christians. There is no care for connecting to God, no one cares about God.

Fat Jon because Sikhs treat God as the end goal of religion, and union with that entity while still living, not after death, we are able to respect other prophets as well, like Christ. Because we see that only a connected individual preaches Godly qualities like kindness and graciousness; a person full of greed can't do that, greed is only destroyed through union with God. When you focus only on the prophet you forget what made him great in the first place, which was God. And thus one can not destroy greed within because the thirst for connecting to God never emerges. This is why the Sikh Gurus said don't ever make the mistake of worshiping us, worship only the One Creator Lord, if you are going to show us respect, show it because we through meditation and good conduct became one with the Creator. That's why I said Sikhs are more Christian than modern day Christians.

Guru Nanak Ji on his travels touched the forehead where the spiritual sixth sense is, and opened the spiritual gate in those travelers to show the vast expanse of the Universe and it's denizens. Thefruitshowstheroot salvation comes while you are alive and have breath in your body, if you do not experience it while alive, it's not going to magically come when you die. Only meditation on God's Name brings salvation. That's why in the Lord's prayer it says Hallowed be thy Name. Since Christ was connected to the One, he obviously used the Name of God to connect to that entity. Which is probably what he was trying to teach people until the governing religious body perceived his preaching to be a threat and crucified him by turning him into a common criminal in the public eye. Crucifixion was for common criminals at the time if i read correctly. The same way modern Christians are defiling any path that connects to God just because it isn't "Christian," institutionalized Christianity that is. Just like the religious body did to Christ in those times.

There is nothing hateful about warning people against spiritual death. There is nothing hateful about saying that Jesus is the only way to be saved from our sins and reconciled with our holy Creator God. What is actually hateful is to spit in the face of Jesus Christ after He laid down His life for us and shed His blood for us on the cross. What is actually hateful is people cursing Jesus to His face and treating Him this way. There is nothing hateful about Jesus. He simply reveals just how hateful, selfish, and prideful humanity is to think God is going to respect our self-righteous works over the blood of His Son.

Sikhi is all inclusive, we will even pray for our enemy, if one should arise so. We live our lives to lead by example, we do NOT convert. If we want to spread good, it must be done so all inclusive. We seek to grow kindness within each human, the power of goodness, kindness, humble oneself yet understand honour. We also are directed to stand up in voice and body to help the vulnerable and injustice is to be spoken against. Again this is a choice, Sikhs DO NOT CONVERT OTHERS.
