Fo76 C.A.M.P. Tutorial:Merging,and Floating Walls/Roofing (Breaking Support)

In today's video we will be discussing a topic that you're going to need to understand real well if you're going to replicate my more complicated builds. That topic is support dependant objects, how to break that dependence, and what to do when objects become co dependant on support, and cannot be deleted. We're also going to do a more in depth exploration of wall merging.

Why on earth would Bethesda limit the functionality of build sets they sell for money in their Atom shop? That boggles my mind. Great work!

Thank you. 😁 the atom build set functionality is most likely an oversight when they were coding in the new build sets into the system... it's odd that the log set behaves differently from the standard sets. Especially in terms of support. Hard to say if Bethesda will patch it. We went 6 months with the counters being able to snap to each other without support, and then one day they decided that they were going to add support restrictions to decorations that snap together. Ex. Counters, and modular couches. I honestly hope they don't patch it. In all honesty I wish they'd loosen up more of the restrictions, and just let us build in any fashion we please, but I doubt that will ever happen.

I've followed your builds on the FB groups, i actually figured out by trial and error the 45⁰ with the chimney triangle by trial and error awhile back, i even DM'd you to ask permission to post my camp since it was your design. Both games have their strengths. Fo4 with mods is by far superior, however the multi-player element of 76 really gives motivation to build, because you've actually got people to see and enjoy your builds in person.

So, I did a tremendous amount of work with the flame thrower trap following a modern camp build for double sided angle and half walls. Than I lost my way and wanted to just give up. I had ended up putting roof pieces in and kept going to see what it would look like not knowing I wouldn't be able to remove them. Are you saying in your video that I pretty much has to remove all the work I'd done with those double sided walls in order to get rid of my ceiling pieces that look so dumb right now? Thank you for your help.

You should simply be able to use the replace option on each individual roof piece, and swap to a disconnected piece, be it a slope, or a flat, and then delete them 1 by 1.

Hi, when you merge objects together, can you blueprint them, because I've tried this but when I place the merged blueprint down, the parts jump apart. Is there a way to stop this? Great video and tips 👌

You can blueprint some merges, but i haven't found one yet that doesn't shift when built, but at least the parts stay aligned, and all you need to do is re-drop the pieces.

It's interesting i was merging a fern that is in a pot to make it look like it was from the ground but after messing with other object in that area i actually lost control of it and it became a world object i don't understand.

Sounds like when you were merging it through the ground the hit box dropped below the ground making it so you couldn't interact with it... but I can't say for sure without seeing it, or what you were doing to drop it down.

@@StoleYaSweetroll I found an area of ground i was trying to merge furniture into to make a little strappy landfill but the area was not letting furniture to be placed to the ground it would pop onto the top of the surface that is then i thought of using the plant in the ground and it worked but then i can't move it. (sorry 4 the long reply)

How do you punch your camp items and they break? I’ve tried to research, but have had no luck.

Get a friend, and use player vs player to have them break them. If you don't have someone to help, you can use the flamethrower trap to burn objects to break them.

How can I remove floating roof that can't be removed

It depends on the roof type, and what it's hooked to. If it's not one of the roof types that can be replaced to a disconnected piece, then your only option is to build back to the roof from your foundation and then remove the roof. But without seeing what you got its hard to say exactly what you need to do.
