Thanks for the details. I use a similar foam generator for my field sprayer. I use a pancake air compressor run via an inverter. Saved about $1000 over commercial unit. I use 2l coke bottle on each end of the boom. Going to make building block for an insulated pump house. Thanks again

Thanks for the great content! Can you do a large precast panel? Also, as other people have asked, can you use any sort of reinforcement in this mix, including rebar, and if so, would this compromise the strength because of all the air pockets, or add strength, like regular concrete?

As you were pouring into the mold, I thought " It would be neat to make forms for various parts of the rocket stove that have tongue and groove mating surfaces so that you could paint the water glass on and then mate them together.

I am very interested in this! I do have one issue that I saw in the video regarding the ratios. You mentioned that there were 768 oz. in 6 gallons of water - this is a fluid volume amount. When you divided that by the 94 pounds of cement weight per bag, this would have given you a fluid volume of water per pound of concrete ratio - almost 8.2 ounces, yet you were weighing the water. Had you already converted that amount of water to a weight to know how much water to weigh out? I don't mean to be hyper-critical or anything like that - I just want to be correct when I go to mix up my amounts. Brilliant work by the way!

What would you think about using a water glass solution before boiling out all the water as the water for the cement? The water gets evaporated out by the cement and you would be left with "air water glass crete". Just a thought. I live in Buffalo NY. our weather just broke so, I am going to be testing this theory out soon. Great video by the way and thanks for your time to break it down

Your ratios, as demonstrated, are "weight" ounces, not fluid/volume ounces, correct? There could be a big difference between the two as different materials (water, soap, dry portland cement) have different densities. This difference could structurally weaken the final product if the engineering on it was done using the other method. Just wanted to make sure this possibility was taken into consideration. Wouldn't it be easier to come up with a mix that's like ... for example. . 1 bag cement 10 gallons water and 24oz bottle of soap ??? makes 50 gallons of aircrete .. just a thought instead of all the little measurements

Thanks I ordered 2 of the foammate. Too cold to even play with this but news is I am going to Philippines end of January. Anyway since I am going to be international fanboy of your work can I email my questions or heck all you do for us I would pay you consultant fee or help you each month in trade. Hey to Darwin, thanks for all the videos. Question please: Did you change your mind about using the Suave oil-control shampoo? Suave shampoo definitely appeared to make much longer-lasting foam than the hand soap ... as you said something like two hours before mixing it in to the concrete slurry. And that compared to the hand soap which broke down in less than 45-minutes. Peace of Lord Jesus upon you and yours.

Hello Darwin, Nice Video. What is the ratio cement and foam. I want to make CLC in my Country Indonesia. Just Trial make CLC block with dimension L = 60 cm W= 7.5 cm and H = 20 cm. I used cement and sand Ratio 1:2. cement and water ratio 1: 0.5 Water and foam ratio 1: 40. what is ratio(cement + sand + water ) : Foam? If Mix 250 ml foamAgent and 7.5 l water, How many liter can i Produced foam. thanks

you are using liquid soap to make foam for aircrete cement block. some other video shows using foam agent. foam agent is costly comparing with liquid soap.can tell which one is best suited for aircrete cement blocks any advatage or disadvatage/

if it gets wet and then freezes, it disintegrates into a powder when it thaws.

I suspect Uncle Goat is correct - so my guess is it would possibly work IF it was totally sealed with 1/8" to 3/16ths" or more of 100% silicon elastomeric compound. AND, I would test a 8'x10' section FIRST through one full, WET, SNOWY winter (just to be sure). I am "day dreaming" of mixing large batches and pumping it out over galvanized screen covered 20' to 24' geodesic dome structures. Start with 1/2" sq medium awg galv. screen (or galv. Lat) over a layer or two of Tyvek vapor barrier, do a coat to cover it completely, then add larger 1" galv. chicken wire, do another coat, add another layer of galv. chicken wire and do a third coat, and MAYBE a 4th one (who knows?). At each junction of the dome ribs, 3" or 4" galv. 1/4-20 bolts would be sticking up for wire-screen mounting (each layer under a 2" galv, washer & botl) and for aircrete depth checking. Smooth it out with stucco then finish with several coats of 100% silicon elastomeric compound. I am just not sure how long to wait between coats. Hey... I said "Day Dream.." (I dream big, and it's fun!).

No one has done extensive tests on aircrete, e.g., testing double air (100%), triple air (200%), quadruple air (300%) mixes. So we don't know if it needs re-enforcing.
