How To Use A Foam Mate Air Crete Machine

Darwin is giving an instructional video on how to use the Foam Mate. The Foam Mate generates a thick foam out of soap and water, which you can infuse into a slurry mix to make Air crete. Darwin has built lots of things with air Crete, a rocket mass heater, insulated stove pipe, a forge, and blocks for a raised garden bed. we have a pdf on the mix out for the blocks in our Etsy store along with the Foam Mate.

Thank you so much for all you share, you are an inspirational person to watch. I like your take on the domegaia aircrete foam machine. Nice to not have the extra water pump and bucket, though I can see how this set up is limited for very large projects, like mixing 50gal bucket worth at time. But great small batch set up. I was just thinking about how it could be scaled up with a bucket with a hole and valve on bottom of it for the soap solution. But then was wondering, why not have the soap be part of the slurry mix, like the jlube, and then pass the slurry through the air foaming process? Any thoughts on that approach yet?

It would be interesting to see if this could be dialed in to be most effective in a cement based 3d printer. Perhaps using a smaller scale cement printer to help evaluate this new vulcan based technology. Be interesting to also create a boat hull shaped mold, for this new vulcan based technology. Hey Honey Do, Love your channel. You really know how to think out of the box. My question is how would it do to fill up the ICF forms to make a house? Building an off grid homestead here in Mo. Want to put a reciprocal log with earth roof on top.1 story but 9' or 10' tall. The earth will be in the form of wood chips and in time will be able to have a garden up there. At least the rabbits and deer will leave it alone, bears too. Would it be structural enough for that? Thank you very much, the both of you, Mrs Honey Do doe's a good job too, keeping you on target. Sectionàl Greek column. That's what I would like to see. Heat weld some pool noodles together for your mold using a heat gun. Stack each piece with a little mortar in between. Maybe design them to key into each other. Simple, cheap, and fun experiment. And something most people wouldn't think they could do. Reinforce with chicken wire, and leave the core hollow for a support structure if wanted. A split mold would probably be better in that case. Rome built in a day with foam.

Hi Honey, I need a light as possible aircrete mixture so as to fill floatation chambers such as steel pipe pontoons and 50 gallon plastic barrels. The steel pipes have some rust problems, holes etc., and for those the aircrete would be an insurance against water ingress causing the pontoon to sink! In the case of the plastic barrels the problem I have is when weight comes on the barrels and the start to sink the water pressure can both cause leaks in the barrel and as they start to sink the pressure also causes the barrels to fold/bend and squash in the middle causing other cracks, holes and leaks and they sink completely. I could fill them with expandable foam but as u know that is very expensive! Can I make aircrete with just foam and cement(without any sand or aggregate) so that it will be as light as possible? If the barrels are light and full of aircrete they should or at least my hope is that they would hopefully retain their shape and avoid squashing, bending, cracking and then sinking! So the aircrete would mainly assist the barrel to maintain its shape and volume as the water pressure increases and stay afloat??? Would I have to include polystyrene beads or other chemicals in the aircrete to assist in the mix strength or to assist in retaining the air bubbles or the improving the aircrete’s resistance to damage from water? In the case of the steel pipe pontoons, my hope is that should the pipes develop holes or rust spots that the aircrete would prevent them filling up and sinking??? This is a huge problem for me at present as I cannot afford proper steel repairs so the aircrete “idea/possibility” would be a lifesaver. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts that you or any other aircrete experts out there on the worldwide internet could assist with. Hoping earnestly for some good news!!! Sincerely, Irish Ray.

so glad you asked this, I bought the big aircrete gun recently and pulled out my air compressor yesterday to give it a go, my effing compressor was rusted out and wouldn't start. I came here to ask the same question because I'm gonna have to try an air pump I use for my aquaponics, its 120psi and I'm elated to see we're gooooood without the rusty compressor.

Are you selling the recipe for aircrete using surface bonding cement, yet? I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for a waterproof aircrete roof, using the surface bonding cement... but, I'm definitely not wise enough to figure out the science of the aircrete mixture, so I will be buying the recipe from you when I order the FoamMate.)
