Forget “the wiggle” - instead, take a jewelers screwdriver and as you are pressing on the side buttons, LIFT the center of the black battery tray UP and OUT w/ the screwdriver. The wiggling only hurts your fingers.

FYI. if you’re struggling… I still wasn’t able to get the battery compartment out despite following the helpful video. Called local Audi who laughed and said they get this call several times a day. Told me to run over any time. Showed up, they opened drawer with stack of batteries in little envelopes, the service guy effortlessly popped it out, replaced both my key fobs with their batteries, and I was on my way in abt 3min! Then returned the batteries I’d bought 🤪

Well done. Glad I found this. Easy to exchange the battery with your excellent to the point instruction! Note: I used a paper towel to help grip the battery holder while pressing the sides, wiggle and pull.

Thank you - very helpful. I agree with other comments about the 2nd step that involved getting the battery carrier out (starting at 38sec through 48sec) was stubborn - but just needed to squeeze the buttons firmly, wiggle it firmly & be patient with it. Thanks again!

getting the battery out was difficult - press and wiggle but it didn’t wiggle until the 4th time was the charm - and I am a guy with fairly strong hands! Otherwise the vidoe was very helpful as I don’t think I would have been able to guess.

Fr took me awhile. You really have to push the side buttons in all the way and use like your t shirt for a good grip on the other end.

They want you to take it to the dealer probably to replace the battery. I’ve replaced mine a few times and I always end up looking up a video because I’m ripping the fob apart and my hands trying to do this.

Make sure you properly dispose the old battery if you have kids or pets, it's lethal if swallowed
