Here's a simple and delicious focaccia recipe.
Make this delicious homemade focaccia with cherry tomatoes, chives, parsley, and roasted garlic. Let’s get started!"
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups lukewarm water
7 grams active yeast
1 tbsp honey
5 cups plain flour
1 ½ tsp salt
Cherry tomatoes, chives, parsley, and roasted garlic for toppings
Step 1: Activate the Yeast
1. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 ½ cups of lukewarm water, 7 grams of active yeast, and 1 tbsp of honey.
2. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it’s bubbly and foamy.
Step 2: Make the Dough
1. In a separate large bowl, combine 5 cups of plain flour and 1 ½ tsp of salt.
2. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour and mix with a spatula until it forms a sticky dough.
3. Add 5 tablespoons of olive oil to bowl and sit the dough in the oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise in a the fridge for 24 hours.
Step 3: Prepare for the Second Rise
1. Once the dough has risen, generously oil a baking pan.
2. Transfer the dough onto the pan and gently stretch it to fit.
3. Cover again and let it rise for 3-4 hours
to get that fluffy texture we want.
Step 4: Dimple the dough with your fingers, pressing down to create little pockets.
1. Preheat your oven to 200•c
3. Add cherry tomatoes, chopped chives, parsley, and roasted garlic on top.
4. Drizzle generously with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.
Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
