This is interesting. But what has been confusing me since 2019 is the whole "stop looking and you'll meet someone" thing. I mean I would never chase girls. I just worry that when I make small talk to a girl, I dont want her to think im "looking for a girlfriend". Not to mention the fact that everybody meets their gf/bf through a friend or fate makes me think that approaching a girl when you're out in public seems like hunting. I'm overthinking this shit a lot to the point where its so ingrained in my mind.

Don't let your emotions take control of you and where your attention is. You decide whether you want to be distracted or not. Distraction can be useful at times for rest or escape. But if you're at work, then work harder to stay focused and in control. Being distracted because of your affection for a girl is no excuse.

I feel this changed my mindset and perspective on talking to women, I read it on a forum: A guy was asking for advice on how to get better at talking to women, and people used the word practice "It bothers and annoys, enrages me a lot when people use the word practice, because the way I see it, for women, there is no such thing as practicing talking to men, because women's lives are on autopilot when it comes to talking to men since puberty, due to all of the constant attention they've been getting since then, women are forced to, have no choice but to learn how to talk to men, and they gain it right away by doing nothing since they don't have to open their mouth first" i feel that changed my mindset and perspective on talking to women more than anything else, to sum it up, women don't have to practice but most guys do. Most younger guys I talk to who say they want my wisdom as a 45 year old single father.....react with horror whenever I suggest that for them to achieve the often extremely lofty goals they claim to want hit so badly .....THEY PROBABLY WILL HAVE TO WALK AWAY FROM THE WOMAN THEY ARE WITH.......and sacrifice all the comfort of a relationship..... usually the relationship is already toxic and holding on by a thread and they think a maniacal dedication to a craft for 5 years with possibly no pay at first will be ok with that other person. And most of these dudes are not even approaching being any more than average to mediocre at what they tell me they want to do......which means they are going to have to practice for hours on end for years before they even begin to get good enough to start thinking about presenting themselves to the world.
