Focus ST engine rebuild Pt. 1 - Here we go again...

Long time no see. I apologize for my absence in the realm of KZbin or social media for almost a year. Unfortunately, the focus suffered an engine failure at the last track day and I have been taking some time to let it soak in and put together a game plan for how I wanted to tackle this challenge. With the shop space supplied by Rockstar Garage, I am able to effectively pull the engine and get cracking on the engine rebuild. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and I'm so excited to be making content once again. I hope you guys enjoy and make sure to subscribe to see the future rebuild videos! Thanks to your videos I was able to build my engine. It’s been running great and now I have a 3071 and 4 port aux making close to 500 whp. Now if only you can make a video doing an lsd and synchros that would be great!

Hello Trey! Thanks for all the wonderful information you provide! My OEM 2016 ST was diagnosed with a turbo failure and I'm concerned the motor could have other issue(s) due to some "extended" oil change intervals (~ > 5000m) I subjected it to. Should I open up the valve cover and maybe the oil pan to inspect for sludge accumulation? I'm looking at approximately $5k in repairs at the dealer. I'm worried there could be other unseen issues that led to the turbo failure. Any advice would be priceless. Thank you.

Can recommend hptuners MPVI for remapping. You can learn to do it yourself. Also, lots of other parameters you can adjust which gives you a lot of customization options

We own a 2015 Escape Titanium AWD with the 2.0 EcoBoost. I just rebuilding the top end on mine 8 months ago. It had around 130,000 miles. I watched your previous build videos when I was rebuilding mine. Thank you for sharing those. I am sorry for your troubles, but this engine design especially the cylinder head , is shit. Having the turbo in the back sucks. You should get a Mountune aluminum intake manifold. I have used so many Focus ST parts on my Escape, so many parts are interchangeable. I like mine more than a ST because I have the AWD. The turbo is at 18 pounds of boost now and I only run 91. I will be watching your build closely. Good luck.
