Love the concept and it seems to have what you need. My thoughts are WAY more closet storage is needed. Bigger fridge option, esp freezer size, and move the security screen away from the glass front door. If you're trying to see who's out there and they can see that you're right there on the other side of the door, it's not very secure really.

If you consider that a lot of seniors live on about 15,000 dollars a month in the area that I live in and myself I am on disability and I receive 13, 000 a month could never afford one of your models . Witch is sad because I know very soon that I'm going to have to move and I was thinking about going mobile. I walk with a walker so that is something else you should consider. Also in the middle of America there are a lot of days that you don't have alot of sunny days but you have very windy days just before it rains and then even during the rain. We might not have really sunny day for a week but the wind so maybe having a small wind turbine that can take advantage of that might help.

The concept is intriguing. The kitchen is much too small, except for people who don't really cook at home. One thing it seems most tiny homes fail to include is space for even a small freezer other than the tiny freezer compartment on the frig. Unless you live in town and can go grocery shopping several times a week, decent freezer space is really important. There are some very small chest freezers that wouldn't take up much space but still provide more food storage than the tiny freezer on your little frig. The kitchen sink is set much too far back from the front edge of the countertop, too -- that would kill my back, to have to lean over so far to reach the sink while washing dishes. Where is the laundry space? There should at least be room for an apartment-sized all-in-one washer/dryer -- if people making tiny homes half this size can fit one in, you should be able to get one into this. Use part of the closet space, if necessary.
@TinyHouseExpedition Жыл бұрын
Great feedback! He did mention that in the entry way that where the large cabinet they can install a combo washer/dryer. In our tiny home, we mostly didn’t mind our small fridge/freezer because it kept us eating fresher. Some folks in larger tiny homes are able to fit a full-size fridge/freezer. In the Grande S1 is more limited about what’s possible in the kitchen because of how it folds. But by taking out the cabinet above the fridge, you could fit an apartment size fridge, I think. 🤔
@kaitlinlovesfam3 Жыл бұрын
They did include an all in one washer/dryer combo space in the foyer but I would want a dryer separate because I've heard there are too many problems with the combos.

Bet you will come up with many more ideas!

In the entryway we have designed a washer hookup and, it should be noted, the Grande S1 does not have a water tank, it comes with an RV city inlet that is easy to connect. And, the Grande S1 is also equipped with screen windows, so your consideration of a screen door is also a good idea. All in all, you have thought really well and these are the things that will make our living more comfortable. You also have great ideas for the bedroom, you can leave your design ideas at our co-creation lab if you want, and we're still working on new ones, like a fully off-grid version - anyway, stay tuned!

Things I love The floor and roof auto folding. Big windows, Murphy bed, solar, mini split. The all in one shower/bathroom. Had one of those in my RV and loved it. So easy to clean. Just spray it all down. Things I don't care for or would change, Water heater needs to be thankless somewhere else. Not on top of the electronics. Have the side walls auto fold. A strut on the steps. The sink needs to be bigger, intact redesign the kitchen area. You lost me there. It wouldn't cost much more for regular sink, larger fridge, and stove/oven combo. That kitchen is embarrassing. I have full time RVd for several years and would get one in a heartbeat if you fix the kitchen. Maybe offer a 30 or even 40 ft model. It is cool and a great first edition

This is a great idea, my two concerns are the water heater being above the electronics as said by someone else. The other concern being that the entire back panel needs to be open for the mini split to operate which exposes the electrical system as well as the control system. This setup requires it to stay exposed and vulnerable to say theft or vandalism in order for the minisplit to operate. I would feel a whole lot better with all the expensive / system critical components as protected as possible.

I really think these expandable units now that they come on wheels are huge within the tiny house moment My only concern is wind and snow loads when those "slides" are out. FOR THE MANUFACTURER.... consider the fridge area to be a flex zone.... Simply peg holes from the bottom to top.... With TWO electrical outlets at the back.. Where customer can install a raised bar fridge, or a fridge and freezer, or a fridge and an oven, or a full height fridge... Or just a tall pantry.... If it's just peg holes top to bottom, customer can adjust as needed like an IKEA bookshelf... Just setting the shelves at whichever height they like. Alternatively... Just include 3 0r 4 shelves... And 4 "L" brackets per shelf, for customer to fix in place at whichever height they like.... Using 8 "L" brackets if the fridge is up on a shelf.. As 8t would be heavy

I Love it. It was about time someone thought about this. You have foldable homes why not a foldable tiny house that folks can easily transport. The freezer is inferior. Even the half size freezer I have is bigger and I can't put much inside of it. There is no washer dryer combo. Solar power alone isn't valuable it you are Mobile. You need a back up like Propane to fuel your batteries as a substitute. Optional hook up to electric would be good if there isn't any propane. More privacy when dressing and up dressing in the bedroom. These patio windows that are popular, if you are traveling through or parked in cold climate then chances are you can get cold. Having a real oven is good. It looks pet friendly, but no place to put a dog house except for in the back of a pick up truck. Which windows open. Is there a spot for a big printer. I love the layout everything on one floor. Soon s built in oven, and longer freezer. Cold temperature climates and plenty of glass patio like windows and issue including privacy. This will be a novelty item. So dwellers need some personal private space.

Nice! Minute 7:58, the control cupboard: I would be hesitant to put much in this cupboard, afraid of blocking the devices that are in there. A cupboard as shall as the devices need would suit me better, and the space behind accessed somewhere else. The outside of the doors could be a set of shallow shelves that are part of the doors and open, so items could be placed on the shelves on the outside of the doors. This is very high tech! Personally I would not want something this tech intense, simple single bed, bigger kitchen.

Are you currently seeking modular home certification or do you intend to? If not why not? It seems like the only way forward if you plan to sell these for tiny home living.

I hope that yall come up with floor plans for a two an three bedroom option! When yall come up with videos of the two an three bedroom floor plans that it won't take long to get the videos on KZbin! I like that you can live off grid with the Grande S1, an do you have the option to plug the Grande S1 into a 30 or 50 watt service? Yall have a new fan in what yall are doing for us with these unit!

Wonderfully creative! This would be so awesome for emergency housing too after a natural disaster for example.

What a super Kool high tech dwelling. I would want to look out of my kitchen window and not sure of completely wet bathroom. Other than that very nice.

Cool, but, I don't see that it has an extractor for the kitchen, for smoke when cooking, and I don't indicate if there are fire sensors and c02 alarm.And where are the fire extinguishers located?

Overall I love it! However, the kitchen is inadequate, the refrigerator is too small, and you need space for a 2-burner cooking setup. This would make great emergency housing!

Would absolutely make a great emergency housing option! 🫶

I could make it work if made more space for a larger refrigerator. I barely use a stove or oven so an air fryer and microwave would be fine. I’ll get a few kitchen island tables with stools along the walls for more countertop space and storage. A couch with a tv stand and a few dressers in the bedroom and we’re good to go. Maybe add some plastic backsplash in the kitchen and bathroom to give it a more homey feel.

It's a TINY house. Omg. Not a mini McMansion | eye roll | This is actually larger than what most people consider as a tiny house, heading towards what's called a small house. Both of you commenters are obviously not tiny house people lmao

That's what I was looking at it for. That or a hunting lease, set this puppy up there and have a nice spot to sleep and relax.

Very cool. So do I understand correctly that the toilet is flushable as a post to compost? When you said it was a wet room, I assume that was an indication of a flushable toilet. Cheers!

Good to see that you are inclusive to seniors and people with disabilities, but I hope your design for the Grande S2 doesn’t come with a significant price increase for seniors and persons with disabilities. Typically, these individuals have fixed incomes, limited financial resources.
