I collected a 1000 sample of my oil, Valvoline Restore and Protect and can see the oil is darkening, evidence of cleaning. Also, after the first 300 miles my MPG began to go up, smoother idle. I'm extremely happy with oil. 2012 Camry, 223,000.

In my opinion, his engine type is more likely why it sludges at 5k intervals than driving habits. But I agree with you that he should change his interval habit. If he didn’t have GDI, 5k intervals are fine for all driving habits using synthetic. It’s the new bullcrap engines that is the problem. GDI allows more fuel to dilute oil for one thing. I hate new designs. I’ll keep my cast iron block naturally aspirated port injection made in Japan powered vehicles until I die if possible.

My guess is this engine did not come up to temperature. The owner also did not state the time duration between oil changes. I think the oil minders are of limited usefulness.

Between frontal engine block cover and the engine block itself there are a couple of rounds rubber sealing the coolant flow path away from the engine lower half. If any of these seals leak very slightly will the coolant goes into engine oil without engine oil going milky?. Would this cause sludge? What if your car fuel pump operated by the cam have a minor seal leak and the small amount of E15 gasoline goes into the engine sump?. will it promte sludge?. 🤔🤔🤔

I say turbo engines 3k miles. Or 6 months max. Na motors, 4k and 6 mo. Max. I only use full synthetic. And a top quality filter. I can see through my oil when i dump it. I dump my oil hot as well. Never cold or warm. Careful with the flushes. This product has a flush incorporated into it.

I can only speak for the VQ35DE engine, but 90% of those before 2009 will get carbon in the piston rings because the low tension piston rings were improperly designed. The other 10% do 3,000 mile oil changes. It's a given that if you buy one of those vehicles, you're going to replace the engine.

I did s bg oil flush on a ford transit and went to 3000 mile oil change i dont think i burn any oul but i started to leak for the front timing cover i e been using pensoil platinum when i do it my self and when i take it to the shop they do mobil 1 . I think i might go with the motor craft semi synthetic because im doing it around 3000 any way i do a lot of short trips . Ive heard full synthetic leaks more than full synthetic i loose about a 1/3 of a quart in 3000 miles
@papiparsons90454 күн бұрын
It’s a myth that synthetic oil causes oil leaks. 30 years working in a shop and never seen it happen. However, some new engines shouldn’t use synthetic oil during their break in period. Not because of leaks.
@ericbutler8564 күн бұрын
I've heard it both ways I know I noticed a leak in my front timing cover after I did the flush and went full synthetic but I don't know what the shop the guy took it to used I'm guessing what ever was in the 55 gallons drums bulk oil. There was crud in the timing cover so I'm guessing it might have been leaking on and off. It seems like it leaks less now that the weather is colder

Question for you: I have started driving my car fewer miles on average so I was thinking of changing my OCI from every 5k miles to every 6 months (Kirkland 5w30 full synthetic and OEM filter) . What are your thoughts? Car is a 2006 Toyota Matrix with 227,000 miles. Thanks in advance.

thats too long brother, specially if those fewer miles are short trips. Do it every four months. It aint too long, but I guess you get as much life out of your oil. Although every three months REALISTICALLY seems like a sweet spot

@fortnite360HZ5 күн бұрын
Good video as using the valvoline stuff u don't know the condition of the engine so changing it early 200 to 500 miles is a good start to see how it comes out essentially u try to flush things out....to be honest u can do this with regular oil even if they never came out with Valvoline restore and protect so even any oil will clean out an engine just change it early and see how it comes out many people I know have done that in the past if they over extended on one oil change its not a big deal....the problem is u don't want to use the stuff on a regular basis people need to treat this as a flush not a regular oil change....I'd rather use a good Full Synthetic Castrol...Mobil 1 or Amsoil or Motul Redline etc a reputable oil and do the oil changes on time..........Using Valvoline restore and protect long term is nothing something I would do people that don't have issues want to experiment there really is no need to if u have a perfectly running engine with no consumption or dirty oil
