I agree! I’ve had to stop watching and following so many MUA’s because they’re waaayyy too excessively “positive”. It’s fine to be goofy and happy and have fun, but it’s another thing to do nothing BUT be mushy and fake happy. Like we’re all human, it’s okay to have bad days and it’s alright to not feel good. It’s what makes us human. And that’s why I love Jaime.

Ah seriously! This is the first video I've watched of hers and it was so refreshing to see someone be so real. Just cute, goofy, and having fun without trying to be super hyped the whole time. That does get really old really fast and exhausting. I'm definitely gunna check out more of her stuff

Because she's older than the average youtuber. Most young youtubers have a "fake it till you make it" attitude which is totally fine since that's what you do in any job, but it's so obvious when your personality is your selling point. Edit: I realize there are makeup youtubers like Tati who are old but fake as fck. But she pretty much grew up in rich people environment so that's the reason

Just another reason I've disliked my dark brown (nearly black)eyes For as far back as I can even remember i hated them so my mom bought me a gorgeous pair of violet contact lenses when I turned 12 and I'm now in my mid 30s and still wear blue, violet or light green contacts and majority of my friends have zero idea what my natural color is. Even my husband did not know that my eye color was "fake " until 8 months into us dating. There is just something so pretty about light eyes. And this isn't a knock to people with brown eyes. Just mine lol

I’m crying I almost always blend the blush upward, makes everything look more seamless and natural. I went to beauty school over 20 years ago and I didn't realize how much my makeup habits were influenced by that dang Milady book. However, I'm not contouring for anything. 😂 You saying "I don't get it" is every one of us when we are reading this chapter.

Ah, I remember Milady back when I went to school also. 🤣 With your eye color, I see a very gray-blue -- a very murky cool blue. That said, I didn't feel like your eyes really popped and appeared more blue UNTIL you apply that blue-based red cream on your bottom lashes. Once you did that, it was like your eyes immediately got brighter and bluer. 🤩 Also, the way my edition of the Milady book explained the face shape thing (paraphrasing from several years ago), is that the oval face shape is what OUR EYES automatically perceive as the most ideal. It is the softest and "easiest" to look at because it is proportional, and the human eye likes proportionality (whether we know it or not). Proportional lengthwise in terms of distance from hairline of forehead to the occipital bone; distance from that same bone area to beneath the nose; and finally, distance from beneath the nose to chin. Then you have proportionality of the face (widthwise) which is determined based on the width of the shoulders. Anyway, I just didn't want people to assume that folks are being taught that oval is the right or correct face shape and all other shapes are wrong and should be changed. It is only explaining how our eyes see things, and how to correct a face shape if the client wants something on his or her face to appear different.

@michelea2326
@michelea2326 4 жыл бұрын
@@atunerfish we're talking about hoarding and the mentality of holding on to everything "just in case". It has nothing to do SES. You're not a store. I don't care how rich or poor you are. If you want to get rid of something, clean your house and purge shit you don't need or want or never use you should be able to do so without guilt. This isn't about deciding between necessities. Example, I some how accumulated 8 pie pans over the years. When I was cleaning my kitchen out and suggested to a friend that I wanted to get rid of all but one or two of them she told me to keep ALL of them "just in case I need them later". At what point will I just in case need 8 pie pans? I held on to all of them for a couple of years "just in case" and never used them. I just recently took all but two of them to the Goodwill because I don't need to keep an inventory of freaking pie pans and stuff I simply don't use. This is what I'm talking about...don't turn it into something else/something bigger than what it is. Hoarding mentality is toxic at any income level.

You always come up with the best ideas. Aly Art here on KZbin has a whole contouring series that I just binged. Great info in each of her videos. PS. I also do that technique with my blush and then with what ever is left on the brush I hit my forehead right above the start of both of my eyebrows where my bronzer/contour meets my concealer/highlight: game changer!❤️

@@alexandrasaadi7149 Are you using cream bronzer? I take a bit(Fenty Matchstix) just on the edges of my lips in a small line, then I blend it out with a dense brush in stippling motions. Buffing will drag the color all around. After that, if it's still not blended enough or looks too harsh, I dab over it with the excess foundation left on my sponge
@ashlimathews4712
@ashlimathews4712 4 жыл бұрын
Alexandra Saadi I use the wet n wild contour sticks as bronzer, I go right around my lips like I’m way over drawing them. I use 3 different sponges in my makeup application so the one I use for my bronzer I just bounce it out. Then I take my foundation sponge with whatever is left on it from my face and I go over my lips lightly again. It just blends it in a little bit more and takes away the mustache look. Mb use a lighter color as well since your mouth is more in the forefront of your face. Practice❤️❤️ I hope that my tricks will help

Sometimes I’ll just puddle around with it and come across something that’s so basic yet makes sooooo much sense! I cannot *believe* this is from four years ago! I am browsing through your videos (I've left comments on *several* years-old vids in the past week so that might become painfully obvious - I swear I'm not too weird... but I am weird) and really enjoying myself while I do! I've had a tough week and finding some of these older vids has really brightened the days in that week - especially like this, at 4am, when I have woken up and can't fall back to sleep. This was SO interesting and fun to watch and makes me want to play around more "by the rules" just to see how it works and what happens (I literally *JUST* told a friend who was asking for makeup tips on Discord after I posted a selfie of a fun look that my one biggest piece of advice is that "there are no rules" LOL). Thank you for always being so warm and welcoming and fun. Watching your videos legit often feels like I am on Facetime with a friend (that talks a lot more than I do while I mostly listen - MOSTLY - because I do laugh and talk back at certain points). This is getting too long and that's a common theme with my late-night-binge-watching-comments, so I'm gonna shut up now byeeee.
