The boy walked into it, sat down and decided to fly the space😢😮 I thought all of the movies were different parts or sequels or basically the same movie…shhhh i was young - now I hav to look it up. Omg as a kid this was my favourite movie. Somehow I found it less scary than E.T. (That creepy bastard and his growing neck, straight up messed me up) but that being said, it was my intro into loving horror movies. Fun fact: there's a deleted scene where Eric gets shot in the shootout. Him in the explosion scene is actually after he got shot and is dead. However, producers thought it was too violent, so they cut it. Except they didn't refilm anything to explain why he died or put him closer to the explosion. It's a mess.

I first watched this movie when I was 9, I remember this vividly because it was the very FIRST movie ever that I was JUST bawling my eyes out! I remember setting on the couch and just crying as if my brother or sister died and I was the one to find them first, crying that hard!

Rewatching this four years later as my "multitasking entertainment" while I work (from home lol). It's like rewatching a movie - catching things you didn't the first time around, understanding things the person on screen is saying in new/different ways - super fun. This movie wasn't even on my radar the first time I watched your commentary and now I am convinced I *need* to make it a rainy-day-weekend-watch ASAP.

We had this on VHS when it came out and watched it all the time. Found out recently the end scene where he gets killed by the explosion was originally him getting shot in the crossfire which was actually filmed but then changed. Lol!!

The lady that plays the mom is Christine Ebersole. She's a big Broadway star and has 2 Tony awards. Obviously after this gem.🤣 She's been in a tonof stuff and was on SNL in the early 80's. I knew I'd seen her before.

At the McDonald’s by my house in Boynton beach fl, in the 90s, there was a dance party outside! For promotional reasons, and they had dancers and my favorite McDonalds character: Mack Tonight!! 🌛 it was amazing. Thanks for bringing this memory back!
