Do you become adults and when you become an adult, you never know your ward in society in society. We are not a part of cults. We are in America in America. We are not in cults yeah

I enjoy your honesty. It’s been many moons since I’ve had a baby (39). However this past week I had the honors of babysitting my two grandsons, they are 2 and almost 3. Brought back so many memories of raising our sons! Also made me very thankful we had our children young.. trying to keep up with a toddler at 62 is a lot more exhausting 🥰. Enjoy your babies,

My kiddo was the same when it came to sleep. Right around 1 1/2-2 he started consistently sleeping a “normal” sleep schedule. My husband and I kind of beat ourselves up because we thought we had failed, it is refreshing to hear that someone who has 100x the baby experience we had also had a similar experience.

I love your Q&As, Joy - you’re honest, and you don’t sugarcoat things. I really love how it is very clear that your kids come first (as they should), but I also agree that while it might be more difficult to find the alone time, you’ll both put in the work to make sure you get that chill time together (it’s still early days in Gunnar’s life - so don’t worry that you don’t immediately have everything sorted - you’ll get there in the coming weeks, you’ll find that rhythm that works). Also, I couldn’t breastfeed my son, because he had milk protein intolerance, so was on a special formula, and it actually really made me smile to see your answer to the question. Because it makes so much sense - take it a bit at a time, if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I certainly would not judge you, if you found that breastfeeding Gunnar wasn’t working for you, or for him, and switched over. As the paediatrician said after we found out I wouldn’t be breastfeeding, the point is to make sure kiddo ends up well-nourished and fed, even if it doesn’t come from your own nipple. You absolutely rock, Joy - and I like the way your videos are - we get a peek in at your life as parents/a family, but it’s absolutely not open-doors or anything. As it should be - and I’m so sorry your earlier life was so open and on camera. Please know that you’re absolutely doing it right with your own kids, and I respect the heck out of you. 💜Sasha

The new baby looks so much like his siblings - especially his sister!!!! So sweet. It was really nice to hear from you and have you be open and vulnerable. It’s a hard time with a newborn and other little ones. Appreciate this vlog. You look wonderful - don’t worry about weight you are lovely and try to enjoy this time … and you don’t need to know if/how many kids mere weeks after giving birth! Take good care of yourself. ☮️

I appreciate how laid back you are. But I also really appreciate how you are honest about your spiritual life. I went through a wilderness season when I was reading my Bible and praying a lot but now I’m in a different season. I try to read a devotional each day and pray but actually reading my Bible everyday just doesn’t happen…… I often feel guilty about it but I also have responsibilities and tasks to do and it hard to make time but I believe God knows our hearts. He wants us to be in our word but it’s about our getting strength, wisdom, hunger and desire from God’s word rather than being mediatory and we’re sinning if we don’t.
@LAnnMcK11 ай бұрын
I know quiet time can be challenging with three little ones. I had 3 in 3 years and 4 months and it was hard. I found that I could take an extra two minutes in the bathroom to read either a very short devotional, a short prayer (from a book with a couple of verses), or three- four verses in the Bible. The Lord really taught me about using the remnants of my time well. I pray the Lord helps you find these remnants (I know they are just that) of time as well to help you grow spiritually in this season.

@@nancyfarkas3592The little girl told her mom she peed in the potty without anyone telling her to. Obviously they ve talked to her about it and had a potty at the ready. Then Evie used it with no prompts and showed her mom. Gideon was very proud of her and excited and she told her dad when he got in. Joy backed up her story and he praised her. So, Evie didn’t say she had to go after the fact. She told her she did go after the fact. I have an inhome childcare for 38 years now and have potty trained so so many kids over the years and her going in to do it on her own is a big deal!!

It is so hard to get in God's word in the chaos of motherhood! I found during times when life is a lot, new baby, sick kids, sick parents, I found I just listen to my Bible. In fact, I listen to my Bible every night when I am getting ready for bed! Now, when things are not so crazy I have my Bible study time where I spend quality time in the word! This has changed my life. I still get the word "not my preferred way but it is still good, and it sets me up for a restful sleep.

I had just turned 39 when my last baby was born, so I knew I was done! LOL It’s definitely not the same being pregnant and keeping up with little ones when you’re a bit older. You’re doing a great job being a Mom! Take it slow, enjoy these special moments and when the time is right for another, you’ll know. 🙂 Joy, where did you get your phone case? You are so great to share that you're not where you would like to be with your personal Bible time. I appreciate your honesty, as I struggle in this area with young children, too. I think during these times, God meets us where we are - in the floor changing diapers, in our kitchens stirring dinner, in the car rushing to church. I've learned to pray where I am and to use little pieces of time to get a little Scripture reading in.

I commend you for admitting to not giving much time to the Lord. I have a 2.5 year old and I too have found it incredibly difficult on getting back into that groove. If you don't mind, I have one single tip. I downloaded my favorite bible version on my Kindle and I read it to my kiddo as she goes to sleep. I have her lay there quietly and listen. Have you heard about Phylicia Masonheimer? She offers great insight on doing that very thing you were describing - not putting a ton of pressure on yourself to read X amount of chapters of the Bible or rigidly stick to a reading plan. I think it’s more about just showing up ❤ (I’m saying this because I also struggle with the same all-or-nothing mentality) She also shared what she does as a busy mom which is putting an alarm on her phone 3 times a day, and spending 10 minutes with God each time, whether it’s prayer or Bible study or just time with Him. Hope that helps ❤

In regards to how many children to have and feeling done, most women don’t feel done with having children, some just can’t have as many for many different reasons. I have always wanted seven children but doubt that will happen. I have one and she’s almost seven and I’m 30 next year. Not my choice to still have one child, I probably would have five by now if it wasn’t for heartbreaking life experiences. Congrats on your new baby boy
