It's happened a few times. Not much tho. (Many performances are also not complete songs but medley also) You also don't often see actively touring supporting a very recent release being inducted either. It is something that is textbook history of music. Thats what the hall of fame is. History of music & the artists who left a mark on it. 25 years actively releasing & touring &being inducted in the midst. Not something you see alot of .

Not true. Green Day, Def Leppard and Pearl Jam were not remotely “decayed”. I have been to 7 inductions, including this one, and performances are wildly inconsistent, but most are awesome nonetheless. Problem is seldom do the classic lineups perform together. Chicago, Journey, Kiss, NWA, etc etc. LLCoolJ was excellent with Eminem and JayLo. my personal favorites were the zombies, nirvana with Joan Jett, cat stevens, rush and deep purple.
@CenterThePendulum2 жыл бұрын
@@mipacker The singers, man. As much as I love Pearl Jam and have seen them countless times, as with a lot of bands listed (and the HOF ceremonies televised or on youtube), Ed has traded dynamics for character in timbre. It’s the most fragile element and a lot of them struggle by induction age. I guess rap gets a free pass because the instrument isn’t challenged. And LL Cool J is a better celebrity than actual hip-hop artist. “Most of your fans wear high heels.” Cannibus nailed it.

Man Dave's voice is rough. I've seen em numerous times and you can tell he's on tour right now cuz his voice is ragged. Still the best frontman in rock right now but time is taking it's toll on his vocal chords.
@michaelfrazia45692 жыл бұрын
I saw them open for the stones over 20 years ago...his voice was just as rough...its my only problem with the group...his vocals are never smooth live..even when he was young. I went back and listened to wings in the 70s to hear them live.mccartneys voice at the same age as I saw Dave was incredible live ...and that was with technology in 76...and Paul was in the middle of a huge world tour. mccartney is mccartney for a reason..in his prime there was noone better...you can love him or hate him , but there is no denying his talent...his vocals at 79 obviously are completely diminished, but I saw Dave in his early 30s..his vocals were horrible live and I love his stuff and have a great respect for him...I have seen smaller shows where he sings much better. I think he just gets into it at big shows and just let's it fly without caring much about the quality of the vocals...more of an emotional release I suppose . so when I listen to this in his 50s, for better or worse this was exactly what he sounded like live as a young man. nonetheless I am happy for him because I always loved paul for starting from scratch after the beatles..renting 2 buses and touring universities in England without playing any beatles stuff..just really starting from scratch and eventually building his new group to a stadium act...he set the template for sting, Phil Collins, and now Dave grohl among others who went solo after huge bands and made a 2nd career...congratulations to dave..he deserves it..love his music

@sf59122 жыл бұрын
@@briandrum1 Sorry but you are wrong. He shouts a lot lot more now. No shame in his 50s and can't hit the notes anymore. It's normal sadly. If you are looking for legendary voices...Dio, Bruce Dickinson and Glenn Hughes have no equals in Rock. Glenn still doing it in his ripe old age! Dave is a legend for his musicianship not his voice. Ironically the Foos would now be a better band if Taylor was on vocals and Dave on drums.

A question for those complaining about 2 temporary members of the band not being mentioned.....was Pete Best inducted with the Beatles? Everyone knows he was a better drummer than Ringo.....right?
@WSallai2 жыл бұрын
Pete Best better than Ringo? Hell no. There’s a reason he was brought on to the Beatles..he is a professional, superior drummer with charisma. He has proven himself many times over. After the Beatles break-up, in the early years Ringo was the most successful of the four with multiple hit songs. He is now inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, as a Beatle and as a solo artist. Only Dave Grohl has achieved the same distinction for a drummer with Nirvana (drummer) and now with the Foo Fighters (guitarist/writer).
@lynnwright39932 жыл бұрын
@@WSallai First off..."tongue in cheek"..... being my age, I can remember some people didn't like the change. The claim was John and Paul were jealous of his good looks. Personally, I like Ringo. Second: I'd say George was the most immediately successful. "All Things Must Pass" and "Concert For Bangladesh" were greatness. "My Sweet Lord" was a big hit.

@theplourde2 жыл бұрын
@@RC-fi8nn after reading the recent Vulture interview with Dave, it’s probably best either him or Nate mentioned William. Technically, and this is a stretch, William Goldsmith recorded a lot of the original drums on “The Colour and Shape” before Dave (which being a Foos fan myself I can even admit this is a shit thing to do) coldly re-recorded all the drum parts and nobody told him until after the fact he technically did be on that record but they probably didn’t keep any of his parts. Still he toured a ton with them and should have gotten a shout out. But apparently things are all good with Franz.
