No disrespect to anyone but as a young man from Melbourne Australia that followed AC/DC from pub to pub in the late ‘70s, the Foo Fighters have come closest to the raw atavistic energy of a very beloved part of my youth !

One of the biggest bands in the world though. Grohl's band has done it all themselves with no real 'help' from an industry that just doesn't market rock bands, nor would he 'whore' himself out in that way. Grohl doesn't have to be a virtuoso guitarist, most rhythm players aren't. He gets on and writes excellent songs.

The happiness Taylor Hawkins displayed at every event he played, unmatched especially in this amazing cover. Man, him & Dave inspired me to play drums especially very recently with all their music they made throughout the years, learned it all and enjoy it everyday doing so. Rest in Peace, Legend. Highlights the magic of ACDC where only Malcolm & Angus are on guitar but still pulled off a huge combined sound
@datamasked6237 ай бұрын
Malcolm Young is probably the best rhythm guitar player in rock history. I can't think of anyone who comes close, honestly. James Hetfield, maybe. Malcolm was an atomic clock. You couple that with solid drums and bass and it will always sound 50 times bigger than just 3 dudes in the rhythm section. like 80% of Angus' job was rhythm playing, too, though. AC/DC is/was just such a complete band. They played rock solid with no mistakes ever.

@@nobrainsnoheadache2434 Yeah it was unreal, the way the song just keeps building on momentum. So much fun to hear live. Grohl really sells you on the event and spectacle of the concert too, one of those bands to see live just for the sake of it, even if you find the music dull. It’s worth it just to see them at least once. Unforgettable show.

The fact that even top professionals at the absolut best of their abilities can't make it sound even half decent, tells you how good AC/DC actually are. Absolutely no disrespect to the Foo's here, just total admiration for AC/DC...

It's accurate, but lifeless. It sounds muddy and unfocused to me, the original is thrilling.
@dannyherrera15983 жыл бұрын
Well they dont have a Phil or Angus 💀😂 Other than that the vocals were great and bass too (bass is easy on this though) But yeah I get what you mean. I love this band but it was okay only because the lead guitarist sucked and the drums (great drummer) just didnt fit the style of the song. Felt a bit bland but again, I loved the vocals.

I haven't been able to listen to AC/DC since Bon left until years ago . I came to this song from the version with Bon in it. This is s not there ?? ? and I like the Foo Fighters, so I thought I would go to a version with Brian, Angus and Malcom are still awesome, it's just not the same :( kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZeVmGeIgsubiZI I am so old

Best ACDC cover. Y'all killed it and still no matter how good I find that nobody captures that bass and guitar tone the way the boys do...that's what I find so remarkable about ACDC..how "simple" it is to play yet how impossible it is to recreate the tone and balls

Thing I love about Hawkins was that his 90% sounded like anyone else's 100%. He still had the energy to put in some little subtle licks that you just can't do when going all out. Such a great musician.

Think its the deception that it sounds simple, try playing em and you find it's not that straight forward. Angus and Malcolm have loads of little subtle extras that you don't know are there until you try and reproduce em.....have a go at riff raff....absolute bugger to play.
