Don’t beat yourself too much. When we joined the common market in the first place food shot up in price over night. But nobody mentions that. Also the main reason that brexit such a horlicks is that David Cameron told the civil service not to planning for a leave vote because remain the day and then he walked away. And also ALL economies are struggling and they haven’t had a brexit! Yasmin is an idiot and I have no idea why she gets any air time.

It's not brexit that is causing All the food prices fuel bill's cost of making and delivery cost a lot of this is caused by Russia oil prices because we are helping in Ukraine so Putin has put are prices up considerably because of this if it wasn't for the war we would be a lot better of and the cost of are fuel and food costs would be no more expensive than .most of other countries

Further to Yasmins assertions about Brexit regret. Any poll is by it's very nature open to manipulation. It's outcome can depend on the demographic of the sample, the question asked and the size of the sample. The latter being extrapolated and as such cannot be taken as being definitive. Recent polling results like the poll before the Scottish indyref indicated a yes vote. But as we know there was a 10% margin the other way. The pre Brexit poll predicted a remain majority. That was spot on. Wasn't it? The exit polls for the 2019 GE indicated a hung parliament, enough said there. Nobody has asked either myself or my family or friends whether we regret Brexit. I must have bucked the trend as having voted remain, given the chance again I would vote leave. The only Brexit poll that counts is the one where the electorate were 52% in favour of leave. The rest is pure hyperbole.

Why does Tice, not understand the checks are because we are out of the EU. It's us the UK who are imposing the checks on incoming produce. If there are no checks how do you know the standards, origin, quality of goods. Just because they come in through the EU doesn't mean they were produced in the EU, or were produced to EU standards, what stops them making a special rubbish standard for the UK.

Think when you compare the performance of individual countries you need to look at the background of these countries. Richard Tice knows bugger all about Germany. It’s current issues are energy related and the drive to become carbon neutral. Nothing to do with the EU, as every EU country has their own energy policy.

The UK and Japan are also in recession, China is producing less, and the global economy is not particularly good at the moment. An exporting country like Germany is the first to notice this, so Germany was also the first to get into a slight recession. Nevertheless, German citizens are doing quite well. With roughly similar burdens to those in the UK, Germans earn on average 20% more than Brits. Therefore there is no cost of living crisis, inflation has now fallen to 2.8% (in the UK it is 4%) and gas prices for consumers are at 2019 levels. Because of the pandemic, any demands for a salary increase were banned for two years. Now the ban has been lifted and of course there is now a wave of strikes because everyone now wants a wage increase (at least an inflation adjustment). There is hardly any unemployment in Germany, but there are plenty of vacancies. The situation is somewhat different for companies: their gas and electricity prices have not fallen that much, foreign demand has declined (due to the weak global economy), there is a lack of workers and now the demands for wage increases. So it remains to be seen whether or when the global economy will recover.

We never lost it. EU was filled representative's that were voted for by the people of their country, we had our reps we voted for them. The last llo5 Farage and his twits were the absolute embarrassment of our nation, behaved like hooligans. We started our journey downwards on that day. We have no standing any longer. Major trading blocs are being formed and we haven't been invited to even attend a meeting. We are not allowed near them, instead our sovereignty has been taken by the Tories hastily stripping us of our rights one by one. We always had our sovereignty. Only thing changed is the Tories now have sole power over our laws and are busy changing everything to their favour so they can never be voted out and our taxes now belong to them and their cronies because we sure as hell don't own any assets, utilities, big business, big producers of anything. All sold to foreigners thar get tons of our money in subsidies to maintain crap services. How people are so blind is beyond me. Sovereignty. Nope.

@@Nannyirene Those who really run the EU are not elected by the people. The EU makes decisions that affect individual countries. Reclaiming sovereignty means laws are policies are made in our own country by our own government, that’s true sovereignty. Your criticism the Tories are taking away our sovereignty doesn’t support your view we shouldn’t have left the EU, because being in the EU doesn’t ‘save’ us from the Tories. Not voting for the Tories does. Besides the EU is also “hastily stripping us of our rights”. Haven’t you heard about the demonstrations occurring all over Europe, such as the farmers protests? We can vote the Tories out, but we could never have voted out those in the EU who hold the real power. What major trading blocs are the EU forming? The UK doesn’t need the EU to negotiate their trading agreements. The UK has its own trade agreements. Also currently there are ongoing negotiations for example with India and there are also plans to join the Asia Pacific Trade bloc. So yeah, I'm not fixated about the price of Spanish tomatoes like Yasmin Alibhai-Brown is. Afterall growing your own is very easy.

AcCording to recent info our trade withEU has increased substantially . Even allowing for inflation. We have not set up systems that take advantage of it .This woman believes very thing she sees as long as it fits her arguments. We need to get ourselves sorted and increase our markets with other countries. Confusion exists s to what causes increases. Is there no British fruit and veg.? S Urely that should result in lower prices. Is there no competition any more. ??

British farmers should grow food and not be covering the land with solar panels.

It's not beneficial for them to grow food thanks to brexit and no one to pick it.

Too expensive to grow anything. Energy prices are insane in the UK

Food prices have nothing to do with brexit it's the cost of making it this is caused by the cost of fuel gas electricity petroleum oil this is a lot to do with Russia oil costs I don't know why people don't look at what's going on look at your own fuel bill's it cost you more to heat and cooking food. The price of fuel has caused more to produce food and the cost of delivery cost so stop saying that it is down to brexit

@maureengladwell1317 why do you support WEF and their food reduction policies and not support farms? Maybe you enjoy eating bugs

We need to stop selling off farmland and support out farmers. We need also need to start buying food in season such as strawberries from British growers. And stop increasing population levels by high levels of immigration which needs we need more imported food.

Richard bang on the money here, its the conservative governments fault totally, this is why we are paying high prices, I will be voting for him and the REFORM party so that the country can be run properly for once. The civil servants that do not do as their told should be fired.

I'm stupid how can it be the civic servants' fault they take their orders from the government so then it's the government's fault similar can't do anything on their own they can't pass laws what are you talking about
