You guys are so gentle and curious, it is no wonder that you were treated so wonderfully by your very generous hosts. A joy when something like happens.

Hi Claire and Chad - After 40 years of on and off vanlife across the lower 48 states, I finally got cancer recently at age 73 (just stage one lymphoma). So my wife Wilma and I are sitting in our living room in Sacramento enjoying all the places we have been, through your eyes and cameras, while I recover from chemotherapy. Hoping to drive to our second home in Portland next week if I feel better, because it's getting really hot in California now. Thanks for the fun videos! - Dan

Omg all the food looks SO incredible! And how special that you got to stay in a HOME not on four wheels haha Let me know if you're ever in the Bay Area in CA again - would love to host if you're ever out here! Also all the PDX food looks HEAVENLY; I've been there 3 times and there are still so many spots I want to try out!

I'm a Portlander. Because of this video I gave the Hub a try. Their pizza was good and it's near my office, so I'll go back soon to try one of their burgers. I was going to try Wajan (the Indonesian restaurant) anyway and finally did yesterday. I have an interest in traveling to Indonesia someday, so I plan to visit Wajan a few more times this year. I'm glad you two made it here on your US tour! I'm an avid hiker and we have many forested trails here.

Been a bit since I've been to Portland, but always enjoyed my trips and the night life. They use to have (and maybe still do) a great summer beer festival downtown by the river. Craft beers from all over the NW would come. It was a great time.

Ahh yes the good old portland, Oregon once a beautiful thriving city and now a cesspool of homeless drug addicted zombies roaming and damaging everything they come into contact with, oh yeah and can't forget about antifa. Portland is a city where the criminals have more rights then law biding tax paying citizens thanks to portland mayor Ted wheeler and governor Kate brown. Last thing can't forget about the 5000% increase in gunrelated homicides if you don't believe me look it up lol portland had the most homicides beating even Chicago so sad

From Portland originally and watch videos about it from time to time. This video introduced me to van life, which I didn't know was a lifestyle until now. You guys re-prioritization of things and values has made me rethink where I'm going in life. But it seems like an amazing journey and hopefully has been a lot of fun!

Oh my gosh I'm glad I clicked play. Full disclosure I'm one of those people in the age bracket that is starting to say Portland isn't as cool as when I moved here over two decades ago, tourists don't understand the real food scene etc etc. But I have to give a big shout out to both of your hosts and both of you for listening to them. It took you to some of the most legitimate places in Portland and those places are the kind of example of why I still love it here. When I started the video I 100% thought you were going to do all of the typical tourist things that actually embarrass me that people think that is what Portland is all about. But you guys definitely did it right! If I had to nitpick I would say there are quite a few better ice cream spots than the one you went to, but at least you went to one that started here small and local at the beginning and even though I don't like their product they're certainly creative so they cannot be faulted for that. Anyway, I just wanted to say you're really lucky to have such good hosts, and thanks for putting together the fun and respectful video about our beautiful city and state!

95degrees in Portland in June i guess is the new normal. In the 1980s you told people to come visit you after July 15 and before Sept 2nd because that is when the sunny season was in Oregon. Otherwise, it was rainy and cool. In the sunny season, you had 1 day above 100degrees. Now we had whole month above 100degrees, even 110 degrees days. High 90s in June sadly means that more 500- 800 year old forests will burn to nothing in September . Last September, people in the Corvallis area spent 11 days trapped in their home without opening their windows. Covid restrictions seemed freedom compare to what we were living in September. it was so so so smoky outside. 3 forests fires.

The original Voodoo donuts was a few blocks from Buffalo Exchange. So Voodoo donuts and Powell bookstore ( across from Buffalo Exchange) no longer cool? Or Forest Park? there was a trail going in Forest Park leaving from Pittock Mansion. the trail ends up in the Pearl district. very cool to be there on a hot day. curious .
