I just made some using this recipe and they're awesome! I think i put too much sugar, because they are really really sweet, and i had to get them out the air fryer and flip them, because they were still soft on a side. But they taste great! ill know for the next time to put less sugar, and make them thinner. Thank you for this recipe!

Hi, I am actually using your recipe right now. But I think my batter got a bit runny. What should I do to make it like a dough? Thanks!
@FoodHow
@FoodHow Жыл бұрын
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that, however, to salvage runny cookie dough, you can add more all-purpose flour, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough reaches the desired consistency. If you want to avoid changing the texture too much, consider adding a combination of extra brown and white sugar along with the flour. Chilling the dough in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes can also help solidify the fats, making it easier to handle. Baking a test cookie is a useful step to determine if adjustments are necessary. Lastly, if you're open to altering the recipe a bit, adding oatmeal or finely chopped nuts can absorb some of the excess liquid and thicken the dough. Remember to make these adjustments incrementally and mix thoroughly before assessing the dough's texture again.

@FoodHow

If you do not have baking soda, you can substitute it with baking powder. Use three times the amount of baking powder as baking soda. For example, if your recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of baking soda, use 3 teaspoons of baking powder. However, if you do not have either, the cookies may end up too dense.

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 10 ай бұрын
@ilovefortnite9343 Is correct, white sugar helps them spread out and get crispy on the edges, while brown sugar makes them moist and chewy inside. Plus, brown sugar adds a nice caramel-y flavor becuse of themolasses . It's all about getting that dreamy texture and taste but sure, if you only have white sugar, it will still work, but will be just slightly different.

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can bake these cookies in the oven instead of the air fryer. Just preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft. You may need to adjust the baking time slightly depending on your oven, so keep an eye on them.

@FoodHow

Absolutely, you can use self-raising flour and Ferrero Rocher! The self-raising flour will work fine instead of all-purpose flour, just be aware it may make your bake a bit lighter and fluffier due to the added leavening agents. As for the Ferrero Rocher, it'll add a delicious, nutty chocolate flavor. Just chop them up and use them as you would chocolate chips. Happy baking!

Can i replace the baking soda with baking powder?
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 4 ай бұрын
You can replace baking soda with baking powder in cookies, but it is not a direct swap. Baking soda is stronger, so for 1 teaspoon of baking soda, you will need about 3 teaspoons of baking powder to get a similar effect. Just keep in mind that baking powder already contains an acid, so it might change the texture or taste slightly.

can you replace the brown sugar by regular sugar all the way?
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 8 ай бұрын
You can definitely replace brown sugar with white sugar when making cookies, but there will be some differences. Brown sugar adds moisture and a bit of a caramel-like flavor due to the molasses it contains. Using only white sugar will make your cookies a bit crisper and less chewy, and they will lack that rich, slightly caramel taste. So, while it is a doable swap, your cookies might not have the same texture and depth of flavor.

I want to make with flour and cocoa powder. What should be the measurements then?? Could u pls tell??
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 9 ай бұрын
To modify the Easy Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe to include flour and cocoa powder, you can replace some of the flour with cocoa powder to add a rich chocolate flavor to the cookies. Here is how you can adjust the measurements to maintain the right balance of dry ingredients: Flour: Instead of using 1¼ cups of all-purpose flour, use 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Cocoa Powder: Use ¼ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. Ingredients ¾ cup brown sugar ½ cup white sugar 1 teaspoon salt ½ cup melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg 1 cup all-purpose flour ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder ½ teaspoon baking soda Milk chocolate and dark chocolate chunks Directions Follow the same steps as before, making sure to sift the cocoa powder with the flour before adding it to the mixture. This adjustment should give your cookies a chocolatey twist without affecting the overall consistency and texture. Enjoy your baking!

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 11 ай бұрын
Yes, you can definitely use brown sugar as a substitute for white sugar in chocolate chip cookies. In fact, using only brown sugar will give your cookies a deeper, caramel-like flavor and a more moist, chewy texture compared to using white sugar. The molasses in the brown sugar retains moisture, which contributes to this texture difference. When substituting, you can use the same amount of brown sugar as the recipe calls for white sugar. Just keep in mind that the cookies might come out a bit darker in color and with a slightly more pronounced molasses flavor, which many people find delicious in chocolate chip cookies.

Can we use baking powder instead of baking soda?
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 10 ай бұрын
Sure thing! If you're out of baking soda for your chocolate chip cookies, you can totally use baking powder instead. Just remember, baking powder isn't as strong, so you'll need about three times more. But, heads up, your cookies might end up a bit fluffier and less crispy than usual because of that swap. So, if your recipe says 1 teaspoon of baking soda, go for 3 teaspoons of baking powder and see how it turns out. It's a bit of a tweak, but it'll still get those cookies baking!

Sure, you can swap brown sugar for white sugar when making cookies, but it will change things up a bit. Brown sugar has molasses, which adds moisture and a caramel-like flavor. If you use just white sugar, your cookies will be crisper and less chewy, and they will miss that rich, caramel taste. So, it is possible, but your cookies will not have the same texture and flavor.

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 9 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use only white sugar in your chocolate chip cookies if you prefer. Using just white sugar will give the cookies a lighter color and a crisper texture compared to using brown sugar. Brown sugar typically adds moisture and a slight molasses flavor due to its molasses content, making the cookies chewier. If you switch to only white sugar, expect the cookies to spread a bit more and have a crunchier texture. If that's the texture you enjoy, go for it!

Nutella is runnier, so it won't hold its shape like chocolate chips do. Instead of distinct chips, you'll get swirls of Nutella throughout the dough, but still making for a moist and rich cookie. If you want chunks, you could try freezing dollops of Nutella before mixing them into the dough. That way, you get the best of both worlds!

@FoodHow
@FoodHow Жыл бұрын
It sounds like your air fryer might have been too hot, which caused the outside of the cookies to cook quickly while leaving the middle and bottom underdone. The prolonged cooking to get the middle done resulted in overcooking the top. Next time, try reducing the temperature of the air fryer by about 25°F (or 15°C) and extending the cooking time slightly. This should allow the cookies to cook more evenly without the outer layer getting too hard. Remember, air fryers can vary in their heating patterns, so it's often a game of trial and error to get the perfect result.

Hey, my cookies are perfect from top but they are a little hollow from the back, like they are not properly baked from the bottom. Can you help with the issue?
@FoodHow
@FoodHow Жыл бұрын
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that your cookies aren't turning out quite right in the air fryer. When they're perfect on top but hollow on the bottom, it's often a matter of heat distribution. In an air fryer, the top of the food usually cooks faster because that's where most of the hot air circulates. So, try the following: Lower the Temperature: Try reducing the cooking temperature slightly. This allows the heat to penetrate more evenly, cooking the bottom without overdoing the top. Rotate or Flip the Cookies: Halfway through the cooking time, gently flip or rotate the cookies. This can help them cook more evenly. Adjust Cookie Placement: If you're cooking multiple batches, place the cookies more towards the center of the basket, as edges can cook more rapidly. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Ensuring your air fryer is preheated can make a big difference in how evenly your cookies bake. Check the Dough Consistency: If the dough is too airy, it might cause the cookies to rise and hollow out. Make sure your dough is well-mixed but not overworked. Thickness of the Cookies: Thicker cookies might need a lower temperature and longer cooking time to bake evenly. Give these tips a try and see if they help with your next batch of cookies!

Hi, It is common for these cookies to be crumbly when they are fresh out of the air fryer, but they will firm up as they cool down. Try chilling the dough for at least 2 hours or overnight to help with structure. Adding an extra tablespoon or two of flour can also help. If 150°C was too low, try baking at 160°C. Using parchment paper and making smaller cookies might also help with even baking. Let them cool before handling, and they should be just right!

It sounds like the cookies might be cooking too quickly on the outside. ok, try lowering the temperature instead then, to around 140°C and extending the cooking time. This way, the inside has more time to cook without burning the outside. You could also try flattening the cookies a little more before baking; this can help them cook through better. Let me know how it works out!

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 9 ай бұрын
You can use all brown sugar in this cookie recipe, but it might change the texture a bit. Brown sugar adds more moisture because it contains molasses, so the cookies may turn out softer and chewier. If you are okay with that, then go for it! Just be aware that they might spread out a bit more and be slightly darker in color. If you like your cookies with a little crisp around the edges, using all brown sugar might not give you that. But if you like them soft and gooey, it is a good swap.

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 11 ай бұрын
Alright, if your chocolate chip cookies turned out super soft, it might be because the dough needed a bit longer in the fridge before baking-chilling really helps them hold shape and not spread too much. Also, air fryers can be a bit tricky with temperatures, so maybe give your cookies a minute or two more next time, but keep a close eye on them so they don't get too hard. Make sure you measured everything just right, especially the flour and butter ratio; it makes a big difference. And don't rush to move them off the basket after baking; letting them cool a bit helps them firm up. Every air fryer's a bit different, so you might just need to tweak the baking time or temp slightly. Give it another go with these tips in mind, and you should get closer to that perfect cookie texture you're after!

Can I skip the egg? What would be the vegetarian replacement? Please help
@FoodHow
@FoodHow Жыл бұрын
For a vegetarian cookie recipe, mix ¾ cup brown sugar, ½ cup white sugar, 1 tsp salt, and ½ cup melted butter. Add 1 tsp vanilla extract and 3 tablespoons of aquafaba (chickpea brine) as a replacement for the egg. While aquafaba is a commendable egg substitute, note that the texture may not be as good as when using eggs. Incorporate 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour and ½ tsp baking soda. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine wet and dry ingredients, drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet, and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Here are 17 more egg substitutes you can try: foodhow.com/egg-substitutes-for-pancakes/

I followed the recipe no problem there, but the sugar and butter was way runnier than yours.. what size egg did you use? Or is your 1/2 cup of butter less thsn 115g? Once melted it measured as half a cup. Put extra flour in and got the same look as yours but still way gooey on the bottom. I cooked for longer and change temp, still gooey. Can anyone help? BUT THEY DID TASTE GOOD!!!!
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 5 ай бұрын
Hi, if the dough was runny, the issue might be with the egg size. For this recipe, a medium egg is ideal-I think that is what I used-or you can even go for a small egg. If you used a large egg, try adjusting the amount of flour or butter slightly to balance the moisture. Also, make sure the melted butter isn’t too hot when mixed. Chilling the dough for at least an hour can help with the consistency. But I am glad the cookies tasted good in the end. :)

Overmixing the dough, even slightly, can also introduce too much air, which might explain the texture. Lastly, chilling the dough longer might help-it gives the flour time to hydrate fully and prevents spreading.

Thanks for trying out my air fryer chocolate chip cookie recipe! If the cookies spread too much, try chilling the dough for a bit longer-at least an hour-or even overnight. Also, make sure the butter is fully chilled in the dough before baking. You can try adding a little more flour, like a tablespoon or two, to help the cookies hold their shape. Lastly, check if your air fryer is running hot; lowering the temperature by 10 degrees could help them bake more evenly. Hope this helps! Let me know how it turns out!

@@FoodHow Yeah to be honest I tried for the second time (I tried your recipe 1 week ago and thats what I was talking about). Same thing happened. I followed every instruction, for some reason they just don't turn out good looking, they taste good but aren't edible in the sense that they are too goo-ey (hard to even pick up),unlike your results.
@FoodHow
@FoodHow 4 ай бұрын
I am sorry to hear they are still not turning out as expected! Since they are too gooey, you could try adding a little more flour-maybe an extra 2-3 tablespoons-to give the cookies more structure. You could also bake them for a minute or two longer, as some air fryers vary in how they cook. Lowering the temperature slightly while extending the bake time could help them firm up better. Let me know if that works, and I am happy to help troubleshoot more!
@FoodHow

@wsdfgesdfr5786 I totally get how that can be frustrating! Since you followed everything and they are still coming out too gooey, I think I might need to tweak the recipe a bit. I am also thinking of making a new video to make it more reliable for everyone. In the meantime, try adding a little more flour and really chilling the dough before baking. Maybe drop the air fryer temperature a bit and bake them a little longer to see if that helps. I really appreciate the feedback, and I will work on making this recipe better!

My air fryer heats up so fast that I do not need to pre heat it. But I think some ait fryer models that heat up slow, then it is probably the best to pre heat it first.

@FoodHow
@FoodHow 10 ай бұрын
If they came out sweeter and flatter than you liked, here's a nifty trick to balance them out without changing your beloved recipe. For the sweetness, consider adding a pinch more salt or a tad less sugar next time-it subtly balances the sweetness without altering the overall taste. To combat the flatness, chilling the dough a bit longer before popping it into the air fryer can do wonders. It helps the cookies maintain their shape better as they bake. Remember, every air fryer is a bit unique, so playing with the cooking time or temperature could also help achieve the perfect cookie you’re after. Keep experimenting; you're on the track to perfection!

That was my old cookie recipe that I used to make often, but I just changed the baking time a little to adapt it for the air fryer. That is how I came up with this version, adjusting it specifically for air fryer cooking while keeping the original ingredients and method the same. The result is quicker, but still just as delicious
