Enroute to Udupi, I spotted this old house on the highway in Padubidri, 30 kilometres from Mangalore, with a large signboard that announced its seafood credentials. Curious, I stopped by to discover an old 100-year-old- home with ancient doorways, elegant rosewood pillars and massive wooden beans, and in stark contrast, a rustic eatery manned by local cooks on the premises. The mostly seafood fare is fresh and the sort that makes for a tasty South Canara meal. Hope you enjoy this episode; take care, stay safe and strong. Happy eating!

Good afternoon dear Kripal - I was actually wondering if something was wrong with my watch 😀 Nonetheless glad to watch it now during lunch time - Some of your Twitter followers are spot on in guessing the name of the eatery when you pose a tweet to guess the name of the eatery - Kudos to the knowledgeable foodie followers 👍👍 Now immersing myself into the Vlog - Wow a Century Old establishment 👌👌 They have maintained the structural heritage of the house and that’s quite amazing - what a beautiful courtyard - All I would need is a Hammock with a bottle of some light beer and some fish fry to go with it 😄 The simple thought of mine has actually transported me to a different world . Kitchen is modest in terms of its size but looks like they pour their love into the fish-dishes 👌 Thanks for the kitchen tour and also enlightening us on what are some of the staples that are used for preparing the fish and it’s seasoning . It’s always such a wonderful feel to have a banana leaf meal 👍 It’s a wonderful seafood fare and also with the country-Chicken sukka 😋 Now it’s time for Kripal’s favourite fish - the coy Kaane fish 👍 In fact even I love a boiled brown rice with any spicy gravy 😋 Does the Rava Masala fried Silver fish have any bones ? Similarly the Sardines in the curry - isn’t the bones a hinderance ? The Prawn masala looks be quite meaty indeed however I don’t prefer a gritty prawns . The disco fish fry looks quite flavourful 😋 It requires a different palate to enjoy a country chicken coz at times it may tend to be a bit chewy . That was a brilliant move to add the Chicken gassi to the boiled rice to amp up the flavour 👍 kudos to Sannidhi Fish park team for holding fort for a 100 years 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Yet another wonder and informative Vlog 👍 Thoroughly enjoyed this one dear Kripal and thanks to FL team as well 👍 Take care , stay safe and God bless while I step out to have my lunch 👍👍🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
