Street Storyss, Vegetarian Street Food With A Twist, Vegetarian Restaurant in Bengaluru, Bangalore, Indiranagar, World Cuisine, Indian Cuisine, Burmese Cuisine, Asian Cuisine, Tibetan Cuisine, Italian Cuisine, Chef Nishant Choubey
Street Storyss caters to the discerning vegetarian palate with its playful adaptations of ‘street flavours’ from the world. Chef Nishant Choubey, curator of the cuisine here says they seek to take popular fare and add a unique dimension that elevates the original dish.
Intrigued, Food Lovers’ editor, Kripal Amanna, takes up the chef’s invitation to visit this popular eatery in Indiranagar, Bengaluru, and taste a smorgasbord of creations - Rajma Ghee Khichdi, Tibetan Laping Roll, Soba Khow Suey, Mushroom Salad, Thai Corn Cake, Coconut Pancakes... some a delightful confluence of flavours and textures, some rather unexpected, but all vegetarian! Enjoy!
Avocado Mousse
A papdi with Western aspirations, the desi yoghurt makes way for the creamy avocado mousse. The chutneys are replaced by piquant raw mango salsa and a refreshing tomato salsa.

Curried Cauliflower & Beetroot Soup
A vegan offering at Street Storyss, the warming spiced cauliflower broth combines with the sweet and sour beetroot puree in a lively jig on the palate.

Pomegranate Kombucha
A refreshing mocktail of fermented kombucha and fresh pomegranate.
Rs. 250 (usd 3.5)

Tibetan Laping Roll
These translucent noodle rolls deliver batons of pickled cucumber and watermelon in a chilled sweet and sour crunch, swathed with the nuttiness of sesame soy and the warming heat of ginger.
Rs. 325 (usd 4.5)

Thai Corn Cake
Corn pureed and coaxed into a cake before being cubed and fried. The result is a lush, creamy appetiser, topped with toasted garlic and chilli.
Rs. 325 (usd 4.5)

Bangkok Stir Fry
This is a dish that seems atypical for an eggplant preparation. Bite into its deep-fried crunchy texture to savour its soft and mushy insides. Tossed in a chilli garlic sauce, this is certainly a dish that’s made for the spice-loving palate.
Rs. 325 (usd 4.5)

Warm Mushroom Salad
A dish with banging umami flavours, the shiitake has been poached with aromats rendering it soft and gentle on the bite. The cooked watermelon provides a fruity contrast to the star anise scented notes of the mushrooms.
Rs. 395 (usd 5.5)

Burmese Khow Suey
Soba noodles, placed atop a creamy yellow curry that’s rich in coconut flavour and the fragrant notes of fresh turmeric.
Rs. 425 (usd 5.9)

Nasi Goreng
The black bean lends its fermented salty punch to the Nasi Goreng, but I found the preparation a tad dry and unappealing.
Rs. 325 (usd 4.5)

Rajma Ghee Khichdi
Far removed from the humble khichdi, this version is topped with crunchy khakra and slivers of parmesan.
Rs. 425 (usd 5.9)

Coconut Pancake with Besan Halwa Mousse
Inspired by the Bengali patishapta, the pancakes are topped with a near-cloyingly sweet besan halwa mousse. The pancakes help rein in some of the sweetness, the banana chips help in this effort too.
Rs. 325 (usd 4.5)

Frozen Coffee Malai
This is the dessert to try if you like a milky dessert and coffee. Smooth in its consistency, its flavour harks back to a cardamom-scented kulfi or rabri, condensed milk.
Rs. 295 (usd 4.1)
