Hey guys! Enjoy this awesome trick! Simple but effective Quick note, seems a few people missed this: if one of the 3 named animals isn’t bird, pick one of the ones they DID name to write 3 times.

Thanks for the clarification, I was wondering about that 👍

From your lecture!!! Cool
@itaialter2 жыл бұрын
I believe that this is a great example of remembering something different than what was actually performed. During the explanation, I replayed the performance in my head, and I didn't remember that the guy picked all three animals before you started writing (unlike the first guy). I had to go back in the video and check. That's a good layout.
@jerryRp90x2 жыл бұрын
And you can always do cat , or if everyone is answering, household animals , most people say cat and you can say " I heard cat, yeah we can try that" what else
@stephenjohnston46972 жыл бұрын
@@itaialter that’s what I missed lol. I totally thought he wrote bird before the guy answered and would be in trouble at the end if he didn’t say bird. Great psychology there

Many professional magicians might say that Spidey is braking their code and shouldn't reveal these things. In my opinion it only adds to the value of a trick because we can appreciate the smoothness and clarity of the moves magicians do when they perform. For example every trick that Spidey performs always blows my mind at the first time, but my mind gets blown again even after I've seen how it's done. And that's because I watch the performance again and see how effortlessly Spidey pulls everything off and that I can't spot a slightest error. To me that's magic how years and years of hard work pay off like that. Spidey, you're brilliant in what you do, you should try to fool Penn and Teller!
@michaeljames45092 жыл бұрын
At least he isn't breaking their code.
@Shutterbun4 Жыл бұрын
And let's face it: every single magician out there has learned their tricks from someone else, whether it be a book, a personal lesson, or a video like this. No code breaking here.

The door to magic is shut but it isn't locked. Most people wouldn't even take the effort to look up a magician on YT to learn how their tricks are done. For those that do, they should be allowed to learn

When Christmas is getting close, people iny family warn each other where the gifts are hidden, so we don't accidentally see them before they're wrapped. All of us value being surprised on Christmas morning, so we never snoop, even though we know exactly where to find our gifts. It's similar with magic. If I don't want the awe of a trick ruined, I won't watch reveals or tutorials. At the same time, though, if I want to occasionally wow someone with magic, I can learn just one or two tricks and let the rest remain unknown to me.

I love the sneakiness of treating the two people very differently, while seeming to treat them the same. I can't believe how many people are watching your videos, and cannot grasp that you only chose bird because that was one of the animals he said. I've noticed similar comments on other videos, such as "but what if they didn't choose the card you wanted them to choose", completely missing the point that it's irrelevant which card they actually picked, because you're swapping your card with the one they touched. Some people really do need to learn to think for themselves, or at least engage their brain before typing a comment. Please don't try to dumb down your descriptions to cater for people who will never understand what you are doing. For anyone who grasps the basics of a conjuring mentality, your descriptions are perfect. Anyone not able to grasp what to do from what you said would never be able to pull off a performance.

I had been planning on donating to some organization to help with the people in Ukraine but with no idea to which one. I was going to give what I had which wasn't much but when I saw Ondrej's deck and that it was for 4 different organizations, I decided to save as much as I could in a week and was able to buy 2 decks. I love how the 'easy warm up' part of the trick it the one where you have to work for it, while the 'harder' part you don't care what the person does. Congrats on getting trick of the year.

I'm absolutely *delighted* by this! Thank you! I'm a nerd and I love to know the "how" and "why" of things like this. It doesn't ruin the magic for me: it enhances it! Now I can relax and enjoy the performance because I don't feel the need to figure it out. I already know. I'm sorely tempted to learn this myself. I have PTSD so people already accuse me of being psychic (or a Jedi!) when it's just an old skillset that I'm adjusting and repurposing and some parts of the illness I'm dragooning into helping instead of hindering me. So this trick could be loads of fun to do at a restaurant or a coffee shop! I haven't done palming since I was a kid, so it seems I get to practice that again :)
@josephmccaffrey6851 Жыл бұрын
Lindsy Fish - Please: DEFINITELY learn, practice and perform this illusion! Your PTSD gives you such a great line of patter. A good story always makes an effect more fun. And effective. You mentioned that in the non-magic world you're working on "dragooning" some parts of the illness "into helping instead of hindering me". So now you can expand on that. You've discovered that between the PTSD and the work you've done recovering that your mind seems to have developed some abilities it never had previously. Thoughts and images seem to come into your mind around other people. After a while you recognized that if they gave you permission to check in on a thought sometimes you'd get a strong sense of what they might be thinking and... And of course, expand your repertoire with some of Spidey's other excellent effects. Best regards. Hope you're doing well.

Why that has been something that I have been racking my brain with to do for some time. Clever to triple write that prediction. I was thinking of using a dummy slip. But didn't like the idea of ringing that dummy slip in and out. This way they see six slips and only six. Getting rid of having to using seven slips and using only six slips really takes out the extra work of using the dummy slip. This method is least slight of hand of switching the dummy in and out. I do the Mark Wilson's version, but was looking for doing this effect like you have described. Good teaching and I will be doing this method for now on! I really like this. It's so good! Thanks for sharing this.

Beautiful trick Spidey. Just thinking about how to redirect if you get something other than bird. What went through my mind was cat, dog, fish so bird may have been missed. From there, I guess I would say something like: “having a cat and fish together would be dangerous don’t you think? What’s another household pet?” Mentalism takes a certain amount of risk and psychology to do, so finding an out is always important. Thanks again!
@SpideyHypnosis2 жыл бұрын

about "bird"-conversation and the "i fell circle, am i right?" - lets say there were cat, dog and fish - dont ask "youre trying to draw ears, am i right" - because it's gonna look like your trying TO GUESS, and they can say "oh, youre asking me sneaky guiding questions so you can guess the right answer from three, its obvious that fish doesnt have ears, youre trying to fool me"
