Perry was an excellent leading man in the vein of Jimmy Stewart, Tom Hanks, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith and Bruce Willis (when he was not doing action). It was a shame his movie career never took off - but this film showed his charisma, intelligence and humility. At least we have this one to enjoy this very talented actor with what was and what could have been.

Probably a case of "Chandler" being too strong a character to overcome, similar to how David Schwimmer is "Ross" no matter what he does, when he appeared in Band of Brothers it really took me out of the story for a while.

@@HDreamerSchwimmer was pretty obnoxious as Capt. Sobel. You never thought you could hate "Ross", but you he made you at least not like him as Sobel. FYI, one of the most hilarious outtakes I've ever seen is from this movie. When her father angrily drives up to confront him about stealing his daughter, in real life he hit a muddy ditch and absolutely sprayed Matthew Perry and the other guy with mud. But he was still in character storming out of the truck until he looked up and saw them, at which time he lost it. Matthew Perry then turns to the camera and it's the first time you can see the devastating effect of the mud all over him. Check it out if you get a chance.

Wonderful reaction and a nice tribute to Matthew Perry. I'm still in shock that he is no longer with us. In case you missed it in the chat, "Friends" was filmed in front of a live studio audience at Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, CA. I was in the audience for the Season 6 episode "The One with Ross; Teeth". That one did have taped laugh overlaid on re-shoots. So, really not a traditional laugh track, it was the audience laughter from when the scenes were originally taped. Ralph Lauren (the clothing designer) was supposed to be in the episode, but when they filmed it, they had a stand-in. They re-shot the scenes later with the actual Ralph Lauren.

This is an underrated classic. I love the cactus in the behind scene!!! I haven’t accepted that Matthew Perry is gone yet, it hasn’t sunk in for me. Also, great choice for a we’d song! I think you can see why I love it too! 😊

You got to watch 'The Ron Clark Story'. Based on a true story, Perry plays a high school teacher Ron Clark, who takes the challenge of teaching a bunch of unruly students in an American public school. So underrated a movie. Must watch.

Great reaction Cassie, I live in Palm Springs, and every year there is an international film festival in January with lots of big movie stars attending. I go stand in the fan section and watch the movie stars arrive on the red carpet, sometimes a few extra nice stars will come over and say hello to us and take pictures , and shake hands. Salma was one of those nice stars a few years ago. She shook my hand, said hello , and posed for a picture and then asked me if I got a good pic. She was so nice!!! She is like you, beautiful inside and out!!

Absolutely LOVED your reaction to this movie. You hit the nail on the head, this came out after "Friends" had been on the air for at least 3 seasons and Matthew was in the grip with his battle of addiction. The sad part was he had extremely great comedic timing. If you really want to know "signs" on how art imitates life, one of his first roles was on "Growing Pains" where his character deals with drinking and the consequences of that action. It made a small profit (grossing $42M on a $20M budget) and the on-screen chemistry between Matthew & Selma was en fuego!

They aren't as good as this one but Perry did several more romantic comedies. "Three to Tango" with Neve Campbell, "Serving Sara" with "Elizabeth Hurley" and "The Whole Nine Yards" even though it's more of a subplot, there's also the sequel "The Whole 10 Yards".

Never cared for anyone in Friends and couldn't stand the show. But have fond memories of this movie. My mother past away a few years ago and one of my best memories of her was that she loved this film. I remember watching it with her everytime she ran across it on cable, even though I had bought her the blue ray, and it brought her enjoyment. She said it reminded her of family since we are Mexican and all the family reminded her of my uncles and aunts. So, thank you Mathew for bringing joy to my mother and may you rest in peace.

My favorite movie. I was hoping people would react. But was worried they would think it was to capitalize. I can only speak for myself but to all creators please don't think this. I want to see you appreciate and love him...

Had never seen this, but wouldn't have guessed this one would be the one to make you cry like that. Some of the others...yes. Like a drama with a Thomas Newman score (Cinderella Man) yeah...but sometimes a simpler rom com can catch us by surprise. But it's a pleasure to watch you emote with such a lack of cynicism. A weird thing to say to someone who's not an actress...but it's true. I also feel sad about Matthew Perry. Feels kinda like losing a friend. His characters were always so relatable and leaned so heavily into the awkward...which I appreciate because there's a lot of that in life whether we want to recognize it or not. RIP.
