So true. I wish I would've known this years ago. Watching your interviews has really helped me fix my shoe game and foot strength.

Both my dad and I love watching your videos/channel. We've learned a ton from you and both take much better care of our feet, thanks to you. I'm 53 and my dad is 83. Since we started watching you and learned of you, we became fascinated and now work on balance and feet strengthening regularly, on top of our regular strength training routines. I wish you were local to us, so I could bring my dad to you and you take a look at his ankles, mainly his bad one. He plays softball several times a week but he has an ankle that is pretty weak. I know it will take time to get that strength back in his foot and ankle. Thanks for all of your inspiring work. Your passion for feet has inspired my dad and I to regularly work on all the things most people as old as we are totally neglect and take for granted. 😊

That means so much to us, thank you! While we may not be local to you, we do have options for online assessments, which you can check out at gaithappens.com/schedule/

I'm an acupuncturist. I frequently educate my patients about foot health and shoes. I agree that having a wide toe-box is pretty non-negotiable. I've never heard a good argument for wearing narrow toe box shoes besides fashion, ballet, and rock climbing. Of course, in the last 2 situations, narrow toe box shoes are only worn for short periods of time. I started running in minimalist style shoes close to 7 years ago. About 3 years ago, I fully switched over to barefoot style shoes full-time. I don't see myself ever going back. I did have a case of Achilles tendonitis likely due to running and hiking too hard in a new pair of barefoot shoes. What solved that problem for me was mainly just strengthening my Achilles tendon daily and gradually. Acupuncture also seemed to help speed the recovery process. Our feet and ankles are so complex and important to our health and wellbeing. Awesome channel!

I really like my sturdier made skechers with the extra wide toe box. I can do a lot more wearing them before my arthritic big toe starts hurting. My 2 cents!

Very brave attitude towards health! thank you so much! Thanks to your videos and webinars, I already adopted barefoot shoes, but now I'm struggling daily on concrete and hardwood floors. In Japan, some architects make the floors softer and irregular to simulate the natural textures we evolved on. But in the absence of this "revolutionary" approach, and with all this concrete and hardwood, what is the solution? shorter brisker walks, or some extra cushioning? or... trying to move to the country side?

Hi, I have transitioned from orthotics to minimalist shoes. I have taken It slowly and have now been barefoot now for four years. My body feels so much better. I used to have knee and hip pain, which is greatly improved. Running and walking in barefoot shoes feels amazing. However, I have developed arthritis in my big toe joint. I have been advised to wear rocker shoes and have a rigid insert in my shoes. I am active and play sport and really do not like this idea, I am worried about the knock-on effects up the kinetic chain. Do you have any advice?
