Thank you for speaking and honoring our elders, who many times we viewed as hard. But, only when they leave you still find their wisdom and legacy. Everyone has a voice but the youth of NOW...need your words Joy. Mvto

“Your post-colonial insecure jitters”… so very apt on this day. Today Australia voted “no” to our First Nations having a Voice in our Government. In our Constitution. Your poem is my prayer for our shame-filled-convict-filled-history, our “Lucky Country”.

I do appreciate her words and her work, and I have great respect for her. I do wonder, though, why she speaks with her jaw clenched tight? From seeing older videos when she was younger, she didn't speak like this before. No disrecpect meant whatsoever, simply curiousity and concern (since I'm prone to catastrophizing, my brain went to "lockjaw" 😵💫).
