"Life is a walking. At any time in your life you have the power to turn forward." -Good Buffalo Eagle, THE SEVEN PATHS
Anasazi Foundation is a nonprofit 501©(3) wilderness therapy program headquartered in Mesa, Arizona. Anasazi Foundation gives young people an opportunity, through a primitive living experience and a philosophy that invites healing at the hands of nature, to effect a change of heart--a change in one's whole way of walking in the world.
Many of the unique and life-changing teachings at Anasazi Foundation were inspired by two of its co-founders: Ezekiel C. Sanchez (a Totonac Indian whose given name is Good Buffalo Eagle) and his wife, Pauline Martin Sanchez (a Navajo native whose given name is Gentle White Dove). For more than thirty years these teachings have helped families turn their hearts to one another, begin anew, and walk in harmony in the wilderness of the world.

For forty years I walked in the Darkness. I am 48 years old now. This summer I found what I've seeked my entire life. Great spirit. He was in me the whole time. He walked with me the whole way. Could not see him because I could not see light. Now that I walk with him I see all. I see the light and I can see the dark as well. I choose to live in the light and he has blessed me abundantly. Thank you Great Spirit in the sky and everywhere! Whatever his will is my command I will worship him through my actions from this day forward.💙

My children gifted me a truck that the rear view mirror had fallen off of...I glued it back on and in a couple of days it fell off again. Two more times I glued it back on and it fell again, both times. I took this to mean that I shouldn't look back to much on the days where I was lost and walked backwards...to look forward and walk forward towards truth and love and light. Great message we all need in these times of uncertainty. Much love and light to you all.

I have a similar story. I was given a good price for a vehicle from my boss/friend of mine that also had no side mirror.. I used the right glue and it stayed. I have worked in the auto industry for almost 1 year before they moved out of reach. (Moral: Putting what is needed out of reach is not a good idea. Efforts to make it up to them fizzled out, sadly.)

Beautiful! It is true. When you do right your life is easier, less complicated and peaceful. When you intentionally do wrong you cannot rest. You are always looking over your shoulder. You know what they say about karma. It is true that right or wrong there are consequences. Never think you are too smart to outwit or outplay karma. Live to serve and love others and your reward will be great.

One of the wisest men I had ever known was a Cree Elder who I knew only as JJ. There were a couple of Band Counsellors having a heated argument about something (I forgot what it was about). He interrupted them and said “When everybody paddles the canoe in the same direction, you go faster.” He then sat down and remained silent for the rest of the meeting. The differences were worked out and progress ensued. When I heard about this, I asked him if I could use his quote, whereupon he said that would be fine. The man could have written a book on some of his other sayings.

The older I have become, I realize our creator is more closely like the Native peoples have described. At one with nature, at one with the Earth and the Eternal sky. We truly are the caretakers of the gifts we were given and responsible for them and each other. This is the transformation the entire planet needs to go through. The importance of responsibility

Good Buffalo Eagle; These words are true. In walking forward some have been left behind as they made their own choices. This has been the path of my salvation - utter transformation through the teachings of the Navajo nation - I am about to celebrate 25 years clean and a life could barely dare to dream of. A university degree and masters, a career that allows me to be of service to those most vulnerable, a beautiful loved son and husband who is my rock. So many blessings. Thanks to you and to those before you who have suffered but still carried a message to be shared to all. Your healing reaching around our Earth Mother all the way to Australia. May I have courage to continue to walk forward to show others the way as you do. Ah ho.

I've been walking backwards for too long. I choose to walk forward from where I stand now, I chose to be accountable, I chose to heal so I can help to heal those around me. I hear you on my body, in my heart, in my mind, in my soul. Thank you for the work that you do, Good Buffalo Eagle and Gentle White Dove. Thank you.

I have always respected the Native Americans. When I was young we played games of westerns. I was always native. I never wanted to be the cowboy or soldier. I wanted to Tonto or the character closest to being Native American. I think this is one example of why.

My beautiful sister-in-law was born an identical twin on a Navajo Reservation in 1975. Even then, their parents held on to their belief that twins were a bad omen. They were letting the girls slowly starve to death when they were noticed by some 7th Day Adventist missionaries. They stole them off the reservation because they knew they wouldn't be alive for long. They are now healthy, beautiful girls, so identical it is still hard to tell them apart!

Don't agree with 7th day adventist heretical doctrine, but glad that they did that for them.

Thank You good Buffalo Eagle ! My Father would have been 96 this year . When out in the North West , Idaho? He became friends with a Chief Two Eagles. It changed him telling the story of That Trip. Ever forward has been a Path of Enlightenment for I did not know what was Over the Horizon , be it light or Dark I knew it would be Worth the effort to See.

If only we would all walk forward. The world hurts because we walk towards the darkness and not the light. Walk Forward and change the world. Walk toward the true light my brothers and sister, my moms and dads, my friends and my enemies. We can and must or we all perish.

In my city, there is a tribe who serve the Union soldiers during the Confederate War. They were used as interpreters, guides when the soldiers needed to travel and as stable workers.this people were volunteers At the end of the war no recognition and much less a monetary settlement was given to them. To this day they are not even recognized as native Americans by the government. But at least the community does.

Yesterday I was looking at a movie about the Revolution and how the soldiers of the King treated the inhabitants of the original states. Taking over people farm and homes. Raping women and young girls and killing those that didnt Pledge Allegiance to the King. So Fast forwarding the native of this land now suffered the same atrocities from the children's children of those that defended themselves from the King. Forgive us God! Will we ever learn anything good?

There is a very similar teaching in the yoga tradition from India that I practice: people have the choice to be dvi-pada-pasu, "two-legged animals", meaning that we live only according to our lower impulses and instincts, OR we can live according to higher principles. One leads to suffering and the other to the light.
