I was born 30 years too early -- I am a former College swimmer -- US Marine - I used to do TRIATHLONS back in my day and competed in INDOOR ROWING but there were no CROSSFIT games -- I used to lift a lot and was a cardio freak -- People used to think I was just nuts. Now 54 and still do things but I need a total HIP replacement so my running days are over :( Wish CROSSFIT was around in my day this would have been a great challenge.

I want to say this is your year Sara, but honestly that doesn’t matter. What matters is you show up and leave it all out there like you did on the final event. Trust the process and your team. I’ve always loved you as an athlete, but right now I love the environment you’re in. It’s healthy and you seem happy. Ride that wave Ragnheidur!

First comment ever..... Bike position can be tweaked a little to produce massive gains. Riding on the drops will create a more aerodynamic position which will increase speed or reduce output required for same speed. Good luck Sara.

Good plan. Maybe make her wear the Reebok shoes. Get used to that also since she doesn’t have a choice at the games.

Hey #Sara, I was noticing that when You run, the foot is almost parallel to ground like running with whole foot. Therefore Your upper body is almost straight, this goes to Your knees on long term. It's my opinion, I'm retired 8 year track and field competitor. You should slightly bend forward with Your chest therefore legs will be more straight and You will run with 50% of Your feet. This should increase Your speed even when You run slow.

Rolands Skirmants yeah I also noticed, she seemed very heavy while running. With a little bit of running mechanics her running efficiency will dramatically improve.

Sara can do anything if you give her a time cap
@ramaraksha015 жыл бұрын
Sara got cheated of the title back in 2015 - she was leading the pack going on to the final day & then they threw a wrench - they had a peg board event which no one had seen before - it was a climbing event - harder on the women - less upper body strength etc - anyway you have all seen athletes miss a step or a round and they have to go all the way back? Well, not this event, apparently one can skip doing an event - honest! While Sara kept hacking away at the peg board as most of the competitors were doing, Kristin decided she had enough, gave up and moved on to the next 3 events - which she flew thru, but of course, she had saved energy By the time Sara gave up and started on the next 3 events she was dead tired and they declared Kristin the winner! The whole thing was a mess - I am amazed that none of the competitors complained or were they afraid to? How can one simply skip an event? If the event is too hard - set a time limit which applies to all But the way they did it, the people who gave up actually got an advantage over the competitors who did not give up! I complained on their site - "We take these things seriously, we check everything etc etc" but they never got back to me Go back and check the video from 2015 you will see what I mean

When do you “force” her to start training in Reebok shoes?
@indyb29046 жыл бұрын
Can you explain?
@DrPhillgood876 жыл бұрын
Indy Brideson at the games the athletes are only allowed to wear Reebok gear. She’s a Nike athlete so that’s what she normally trains in... to my knowledge
@karolinamackiewicz5146 жыл бұрын
So maybe the sponsor contracts don't allow her to run in reebok outside the Games?
@DrPhillgood876 жыл бұрын
Karolina Mackiewicz I’m asking from a training stand point when does it make sense to train in the shoes you’ll compete in? She’s done it for years so maybe at this point it doesn’t matter. That’s really what I’m trying to ask. 😂 I don’t have the answers I want them.
@karolinamackiewicz5146 жыл бұрын
I totally understand your point of view. I am sure they, as experienced coaches and athlete, have thought about it already as well ;) This is why I started to think that one reason might be sponsor contract. The other reason might be that the shoes make no difference for Sara. I don't see them responding under the posts, so you might need to wait or just speculate ;)

@karolinamackiewicz5146 жыл бұрын
Maybe she didn't find the right one yet? Or only now? She also moved from Iceland to US and back to Iceland. We don't know what was exactly the reason but great she is back in Europe, have a great team of coaches and start from the scratch (like she said, she started with those guys from zero, every move from the beginning) and it seems she is enjoying it. Hopefully, this will work out at the Games.
