the glide on this plane is incredible. You fly it between FL190 and FL220. If you can't glide to an airport from that altitude then you've got bigger problems

The glide range really is incredible with the PA46 wing on all models, if the engine-out is handled correctly. We have found gliding to an airport is rarely the problem though, it’s the last 500 feet that get pilots. We spend a significant amount of time training multiple engine-out scenarios, from varying altitudes and distances, to ensure our clients can follow up an engine emergency all the way to completion, not just in the glide to the airport.

Pastor is spelled with an “or” at the end. I don’t think one of those will make an engine out better or worse.

The PA46 variants have a great wing that gives it almost glider-like handling and range qualities in an engine out scenario. Glide speed is anywhere from 90-105 KIAS, depending on the variant/weight. We truly can’t say this one has worse qualities than any other GA aircraft in an engine-out scenario, simply because it is “fast.”

@@caseyaviation glide ratio is good… and stall speed isn’t bad, meaning landing speed is still kinda quick, compared to a C172… Don’t select just any pastor… choose one with significant flying experience in a PA46, prior to experiencing the engine out…. Gear up landing distance on a smooth surface will be about 200’…. 😃 Don’t run out of fuel….
