spear hand strike should be pretty much a mandatory pickup for all monks, even mistweavers. A 15 second cd interrupt is just way too powerful to skip for M+

Thank you for the easy explanation on Fistweaving. I really love the idea of healing while dealing damage but I wasn't too into Disc Priest. I'm really enjoying Dragonflight and this will just add to the fun.

Been excited that Fistweaving is back. Prob my most favorite time of playing the game when the original build came out in MOP. During pre-patch., whic Covenent and SB should be used? Follow mistweaver and go with Venther? But then go with healing based or dmg based SB. Also im sure I know this is INT, but should gear for fistweaving still be INT or do we want AGI?

It has been some time since you asked, but if you haven't had any other feedback, I can point out a few things that might help. Venthyr was pretty strong of a cd to miss and you would probably want to play with theotar. The nf ability is a strong talent for m+ and the other 2 feel weird to me using them as mw. They also go away soon, so this point will become obsolete. Most leather pieces have both agi and int as stats that change whenever u spec into the respective spec. So the only pieces of gear you may need to check those for are trinkets and weapon. As an int based class u always go for int gear. If ur class has agility as a primary stat it means that every spell/ability scales with that stat. The same with strength. More or less the way primary stats work is there is a hidden coefficient behind their numbers that do let's say [15*spell power* (1+versatility)] and spell power is something like 4*intellect, and the game calculates your stats and makes that formula give 1000 heal or dmg or whatever. Agi and strength have a similar formula for attack power, that goes into their numbers. You can't get a benefit from strength if ur primary is intellect, or agility, and vice versa.

I had a thought to use upwelling for fistweaving. since most of the time you will be applying ancient teachings of the monastery through your Fae line stomp, upwelling would gain the full additional charges while sitting off cool down. When you need decent AOE healing would it be viable to thunder, focus tea, and then essence font which shoots the bolts out really fast?

Yea I should of mentioned this but forgot. It is a great way to do some burst AoE healing, especially when instant vilify isn't up or you're moving around and cant hit targets with melee abilities.

@@RifeGaming Does the empowered essence font move health bars? Typically, people are saying essence font isn’t worth using unless you have to move a lot or some other obscure reason, but the empowered upwelling version seems pretty solid on PTR. I don’t have access to beta or dungeon healing to test.

@@doctonic Yea it moves health bars. Just a normal EF with the TFT buff is almost the same healing (5% less) as casting a Vivify with ReM on all 5 allies in a dungeon, and it's the same 1.5s cast time. A full Upwelling TFT EF is double that at almost 2,000% sp healing in a 3 second channel which is nuts.

@@RifeGaming Thank you for the additional info, that is good to hear that if multiple people are low, monks have a quick way to move the party health bars. I definitely plan to use upwelling and empowered thunder focus tea stacks, which can have a pretty short CD and be always available as needed.

I like TFT+upwelling EF on bursting weeks for the end of a pack with all that bursting stacks going out. It’s up every time basically, does a good amount of healing when everything is dead so you can’t kick. Also the bonus haste from secret infusion helps with spamming casted spells if you also need that for bursting.

Hi. As a DPS player in raid I love the concept of fistweaving and leveling one through dungeons has been a blast. Was wondering if MW dmg will scale decently enough in damage to be worth a spot in raids or M+ for dragonflight?

I think MW damage at the moment is fine. Middle of the pack. If you enjoy playing Fistweaver you'll have no trouble getting groups at 70. All healers are very close and viable imo.

im doing single target in dungeons 12/15k dps while also pulling 22/25k hps at ilvl 370. no issues keeping tank or dps alive as long as they have a brain to move out of shit or dodge shit. problem i find is as all healers find, u cant heal stupid. can pump 35/40k hps when its OOOH SHIIIIIIT blowing revival crain and FS then tea with font and rising sun but this is the issue the big oooh shit is all on a 3min CD

Have you tried a Gift of the Celestials + Invoker's Delight combo? Essentially a 33% uptime bloodlust. Seems insane...

Yea it's excellent for heavy party-wide incoming damage. You can combo it with Mana Tea for 83% reduced mana cost on Enveloping Mist. I think it will be great for well coordinated and clean groups in higher keys but it isn't enough to resolve my mana issues in pugs with a lot of avoidable damage and sloppy play in average keys.

Is a 2h better for fistweaving or a 1h+OH? Given the talents in the tree (returning player btw - quit in Legion) I hope that down the line blizz opens up a viable mistweaving route.. right now it seems only fistweaving is really viable

Having a macro for casting renewing mist on a random player helped my immersion so i wouldnt waste too much time looking at health bars every 6 sec the charge is back

Only downside it will ocationally target someone who has RM already on them, but the fluidity of the gameplay is very much better.

Nice video though its like in every expansion where fistweaving gets promoted and then people try actual hard content and realize that firstweaving is not a serious contender as healer. I play mistweaver now for 3 expansions exclusively and its just way to clunky and does not provide the actual burst heal to keep a M+ or raid up. Sure it might be fun for HC dungeons or lfr but thats about it. Vanity spec for some fun times.

Yea unfortunately I'm feel the same way in higher keys on MW so far even in pre-patch. In beta and lower keys there is a lot of failure damage and random damage that Fistweaving can heal up which makes it look good but in higher keys where most healing is for unavoidable party-wide mechanics damage or debuff/targeted damage Fistweaving becomes far less powerful.

Generic Fistweaving with Faeline Stomp feels great in 95% of content. It's so good I'd place it in S tier. However in the other 5% of scenarios where you can't be in melee or don't have multiple mobs to cleave it can feel lacking. The saving grace at the moment is that you can take FLS and 1m Celestial and if you take Yu'lon with Mana Tea it can hard carry your casting throughput when you need it and can't Fistweave. Most of the time I would take that build and ignore Chi'Ji while taking Rising Mists. If I really needed the big caster throughput for something like Hyrja in a high Tyran HoV I could also take Invokers for the Haste buff and drop Rising Mists. Overall Mistweaver feels very strong and fun right now even though half their talents like Bonedust and Unison will see zero play.

@@RifeGaming I don't understand the need to pair mana tea with your celestials. Chi-Ji gives a stacking 33% mana reduction and cast time to make Enveloping Mist and Yu'lon gives a 33% mana reduction on Enveloping Mist in Dragonflight. You did not touch on their mana reductions on your guide, I do not know if it is a simple error or you just do not understand the mechanics of the celestials.

@@Nystraeline You don't have to pair it with Mana Tea to be fair. It can be nice for Yu'lon just because Enveloping spam even with the 33% cost reduction can burn through a lot of mana fast with the Haste buff accelerating your casting. I wouldn't worry about Mana Tea at all for Chi'Ji.

I don't even like FS. It feels clunky and the micromanage being on top of it instead of just casting EF. I also never press enveloping. Wish renewing mist would proc envelpoing more.

Yea the AoE of the buff to stand on is also very small, even smaller than the graphic on the ground. Mobs can easily move 3 or 4 yards and be unhittable which can suck. Unfortunately you need FLS for the BoK and TP cleave so pressing EF to proc Ancient Teachings is often not enough.

@@RifeGaming i saw a different video which showed still having the buff from faeline stomp even while standing outside of the graphic. in contrast, you are saying it’s actually smaller than the graphic. any way to confirm? this person was using a weak aura to track the buff and was standing fairly far out, hopefully it’s more forgiving

@@doctonic ​ Yea so there are 3 buffs with FLS. The Faeline Stomp buff lasts 30 seconds and stays on you regardless of where you are but only has an effect when standing on the FLS ground effect. This is the buff that gives a 6% chance for your abilities to reset the CD of FLS. Then there are two more buffs that are applied when standing on the ground effect which cause your BoK and TP to cleave and SCK to heal. If someone is tracking the FLS buff they're tracking the wrong buff.

I was hoping a simple weak aura could help me identify if i had the buff(s) i needed to fist weave effectively, and maybe another to indicate the timer of the instant cast vivify. thank you for the details, you are certainly thorough! :)

Ideally we would have the option to pick playstyles but Fistweaving is overwhelmingly necessary for our mana. I don't think a pure casting build is even possible at the moment which sucks.
