My wolf dog blew his coat in late September and I was vacuuming twice a day. I love his coat now. It's so lush and pretty! A tip for any animal that sheds: bathe and comb them regularly during the months of September and March. That's when they blow their coat for each season. Brushes with rakes for the undercoat is a must. Oatmeal based shampoo/conditioner if your fur baby is like mine and has sensitive skin.

2nd the Oatmeal, and good on you, good pet parents 😊💖🐺

Happy hoodie over their ears and a shop vac will pull a lot of it off on top of the under coat rake. Girl with 2dogs has Miracle de-shedding shampoo

I second this! My GSD blew hers around the same time and gave the roomba a run for it’s money 😂😂😂

I had a wolf/dog and a GSD at the same time. We called the fur rolling across the floor tumble weeds. Friends called my truck the fur ball, because when I drove with the windows open it looked like the truck was shedding 😂

I absolutely love watching you interacting with those beautiful animals. You can see that they really trust you, and you're so amazing with them! My German Shepherd has a lot of wolf in her, and she gets totally turbo-charged when it's cold; it's hilarious! Also, whenever I have a bad day I watch one (or 10) of your videos, and it reminds me that there is good in the world. I am grateful for what you do.

I have an albino Siberian husky who spends summer mostly indoors, he will yap and do that loud whiney talk until his water dishes have lots of ice. In winter, he barely comes inside, except rain, and when he wants attention. He has the little rural road fawning for him... everyone keeps his favorite treats so he goes door to door...lol plus little kids next door are his favorite time when they get home from school. My Chihuahuas have short thin coats and can't handle cold, and it was a learning curve to add a dog with a double coat was tricky to learn, but his winter coat is so thick like their wolf ancestors, you can't see your fingers as you scratch. I hear him and the neighbors 3 big pups barking and running what sounds like the local coyote pack. He and his buddies keep the neighbors chickens safe, as well as keep critters from the gardens of the only 4 houses on this back road. We are behind a state park and have deer, turkey, coyotes, fox, and everything else in rural Appalachia.

Thought it would be the case! These wolves have evolved to grow these big floofy coats after all. :D I imagine that the lions get some accomodations for winter considering they lack the floofy coats themselves. They might be happy in fresh temperatures, but I imagine that when it gets actually freezing, they need some heat sources.

I imagine the wolves manage it just fine, they live naturally in winter climates of Canada, the US and many other parts of the world. Even for lions it would be normal since Africa can sometimes reach freezing at night time and is oten cold at night across most of Africa, so they would have adjusted to freezing / cold temperatures eons ago.

My guess why the lions and those guys get more rambunctious is it keeps them warm as well

The wild wolves in northern Minnesota do just fine in snow and cold. They fuel their heat with eating frequently.

I'm a huge fan of the channel and love all the animals you feature. But for some people like my son who is autistic doesn't understand the bond you have taken years to form with them. He thinks that wolves are just friendly in the wild but when I tell him that he sees your videos and gets confused . Would you mind posting a video about the differences in behavior between the wolves you have raised vs wild wolves. He will understand more if it comes from you. Again your doing an amazing job with those beautiful creatures I'm not gunna lie ... They look friendly enough to be house pets but there definitely not .

Easier to shed a layer or two, fluff or clothes, than trying to take off your skin if you are already naked and overheating. (Excluding dry heat like deserts where layers of clothing are needed for better air cooling)
