Naomi was perfectly cast as Janey-E she was excellent, however, Grace Zabriskie who played Sarah Palmer was in another league and deserves any awards going despite Sarah Palmer having less screen time her acting was just magnificent adding a big depth to the scenes dragging all of the sorrow of the original series with her, probably why some of her scenes didnt need dialogue
@vincentjohnflorio4 жыл бұрын
Grace has to play the most exhausted, burn-out, torn up tortured soul ever and she does it so well you'd think, "Well she must walk around like that all the time," so when you see she's just a normal regular thoughtful calm and gathered person, you really appreciate the talent level.
@stopthephilosophicalzombie90173 жыл бұрын
Grace Zabriskie is brilliant in everything. Her performance in Inland Empire might be the best thing in that whole movie.

More than just an especially stellar performance in TW THE RETURN, this particular clip is one of my all-time top 10 David Lynch favorite moments, but uniquely so. Other favorites of Lynchian genius tend to be if not surreal then studied subversion of normalcy. Janey-E Jones in this clip punches through the screen with conspicuous absence of stylized camerawork or sound design-- It's perversely, jarringly, powerfully thisworldly (as opposed to otherworldly blue rose stuff but also the otherwise pervasive implicit gritty hint of all-American weirdness in even minor characters, extras. Once or twice a year I return to this particular clip as improbably but effectively inspirational / instructive -- it resonates with me as a not-that-over-the-top parallel to how I have learned to deal with bullies.

As much as the end of S3 is a downer. I'm glad Janey-E and Sonny Jim got the husband/dad they deserved in the end. Cooper's plan to save Laura and find Judy may have been a failure, but he succeeded here.
