I agree with everything except the electric vehicles. The facts are that electric vehicles are way more reliable, easier to service, and way cheaper to run. Not every post office can accommodate them, but the vast majority can and should. It is the future.

For me, the electric vehicle deal, is neither here nor there. I agree with the elimination of supervisors and bonuses. I work in a P&DC, and see supervisors just sitting, in a group, all night. All I think, is that there's $600k, just being wasted. Maintain the machines we use? No! Let's get another supervisor, that will solve everything. DeJoy, is just the face of everything that is wrong with the USPS. He makes more money than the president does.

@@sterlingpamplin Electric vehicles are very expensive on the front end. Electric vehicles also don’t hold up in colder temperatures meaning less mileage between charging. You forget to hook it up to charge, you can’t do the route because it takes 5+ hours to charge. On top the batteries alone are worse for the environment. You burn all this carbon to make the battery then how do you dispose of this battery.

@ first, electric vehicle now have battery management that keep the batteries at a constant temperature year-round. Second, the routes that these will get deployed on will only use less than 50% of the battery daily so even if they do forget to plug-in, they will be able to be used the next day, and also can be fast charged enough for the route in an emergency in less than 15 minutes. Third, the rhetoric of batteries being worse for the environment is not completely true. All EV batteries are recycled to harvest all the earth minerals or repurposed. They are not being thrown in landfills. Battery chemistry has also changed to where they don’t need cobalt. No one would pull any of these electric vehicle stats out of their ass if they didn’t work. Also, for the application of mail delivery EV’s are more efficient and consume less battery than highway use. It just makes sense. The gas savings alone will offset the cost in less than 2 years.

Thanks for the 1.3% raise DeJoy I already wasn’t making enough but that 1.3% is definitely going to help when our healthcare goes up by the end of December 2024. Still waiting for my backpay for a month and a half pay from 5 months ago. I’ll keep wearing my seat belt while my truck turns off while making a left turn on a green light. I’ll keep getting written up for trying to do 16 hours of work in 8 hours. I’ll keep trying to keep up with the ever changing rules that are convenient when management is in hot water. I’ll keep following instructions even when they violate OSHA laws and “just grieve it” but never receive my payment. Thanks DeJoy.

My office has 9 overpaid inadequate inexperienced supervisors, a manager getting postmaster pay and a postmaster who’s clueless, none of them know how to staff a shift properly of clerks to move mail or get the mail carrier routed out in a timely fashion to get the carriers out on the street for delivery in their very timed tour of duty to which clerks aren’t timed. All management doesn’t is harass and treat the carriers who are the. Read and butter and face of this organization like shit for very underpaid wages while we fix all their problems as the harass and fear drive us. They need to cut the supervision, harassment and focus on workplace health issues because most buildings are old filthy nothing works from heat, a/c, water drainage or equipment because it’s all going into the pockets of management in bonuses for the money saved to not do these things. It’s the worst and management needs to be forced out and cut back this would save huge money waste.

When I turned of age and was on my own there was some thefts from mail boxes way back then too. I had paid for a Post Office Box and that box was under $20 now it's $91. A thirty few year increase of keeping up with a projected future. But it was a big box on the bottom and then I was exchanged to a very small box and now it's up high.

I have moved lots of times and have lived with family before. Never had this problem till last year when I moved and filled out change of address form and ended up getting my Dad's mail at my new address. Found out that the sorting is done by the first 3 letters of a persons first name. In my family we are all J. W. initials., My first four letters of my first name in JACQ and my Dad's in JACK and the mail is sorted by the first THREE letters NOW. This made my Dad's bills late and I had to PAY for the mail to get sent to him (in another state) overnight, plus I had to END my change of address to end this problem.

Giving away the free boxes isn't helping the post office some people are ordering them to use for other things , I've seen people on DIY videos use them for all kinds of things and they say there free and you can even order them online and they'll bring them right to you... I think paperless billing, statements, documents, etc. has caused a huge profit loss for the P.O. But it's convenient, cuts down on waste, and saves trees from being cut down. It is a fact that post office is essential to the function of our society. There are millions of people whos only means of communication is the mail.
