In reference to gas stoves, the Consumer Product Safety Commission stated, "Products that can't be made safe can be banned.” After hearing that, somehow people came to the conclusion that now ALL gas stoves are in danger of being banned. However, the logical conclusion should be that manufacturing companies should make any unsafe stove designs safer. Add that both the commission and the US President have stated that they do not support banning gas stoves.

I don't give to much weight to the climate argument, but the fact is that coal is just not profitable anymore. In 2009 coal produced 50% of electricity; in 2019, less than 28%. Something like 10 or 11 coal-producing companies went bankrupt duing the Trump administration after he pretty much deregulated the industry. Natrual gas production is up and has surpassed coal as a power generator. Gasoline/oil companies have the country by the balls and have refused to increase production because they like the high profits. So, alternatives are very necessary for consumers. My view is that the cheaper renewables and the cleaner-burning natrual gas industries are the future for this country in power generation.

Matt Rosendale is talking about "tilling your garden" or "nurturing the land". He doesn't want bad air or water either. Doing nothing with the land is sloth. Work with what you have is all any of us can do. Is the correct choice the best intention for the moment of the situation? Montana is one of few that function WITHOUT a sales tax. Huge land, low population, low money, clean air and water (sorry Flint Michigan... may you set an example). Point is Montana makes it work with what it has, like some of the best beef and wheat money can buy.

This "Clean New Deal" isn't so friendly to the environment when you stop producing here where we do it cleaner and efficient than anywhere else to push Lithium. Digging for it is worse than digging for coal or drilling for oil. You can close a used up coal mine but can't close lithium mines. Once these batteries are used up how do you dispose of the hazardous material? That doesn't even cover transporting oil from other countries where the possibilities of more spills on the ocean can happen as to using pipe lines within our country. Yet they stopped that too.
